They are both so kind and full of love. I felt like I was visiting my family. They answered all my questions and got me excited for the food. I was able to watch them make everything and wow, wow, wow! I could watch them make magic all day! I felt like I was watching a cooking show. Are there any producers out there? Get them a show asap! The FOOD! Wow, so many fresh vegetables, flavors were on point, and every bite was filled with love! Stop reading and go now! I live an hour away and yep it was worth the drive. (Health & Hollistic) they had a lot of knowledge about the health benefits of certain roots, herbs, and barks, for health & healing. Even everyday produce we use like onion and garlic. They also gave me a sample of black african soap.“
“Excellent OxTails & rice and beans! My 11 year old daughter and I love oxtails and tonight my husband went to get us a small to share, needless to say, he had to go back and get us a large as my daughter ate almost all of the oxtails and most of the rice! Great food!“

It was very humiliating.Sophia was so kind and told me to take the food and enjoy. She said I owed her nothing.When I ran in late to pay her on Wednesday night, she told me I owed her nothing, and refused to take any money.I was moved to tears. “I have to agree....The food is excellent. The Owner.....Amazing....Beautiful inside and out. The Chef.....One of a kind....definitely in his element. The Staff....very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed every day I spent in the restaurant, not just because the food was wonderful....but I enjoyed each and every person that was there the staff, chef and even the guests were happy and friendly. The food draws you here, but the ambiance will make you want to stay. This should be on the food network.....Don't miss a wonderful treat. “No trip to Poughkeepsie is complete without a stop here, in fact, I head here before I go to my hotel. Funny story is I read a review about the staff being rude and there's a running joke about the ruder the staff at a Jamaican restaurant, the better the food. Lol. The staff were not at all rude, but the food has been amazing every time! I center had their j*** chicken, fried chicken, oxtails, curried goat, curried chicken, spicy shrimp, rice and peas, all varieties of patties and they're a hot every time. Been coming here for a year and the flavor and portions that remained consistently good! It's not a sit and dine location, also you either park on the street or in the lot of the grocery store next door. Ps. If you want patties, go early or call ahead first. They sell out fast!“
