Have passed this place a gazillion times and never dared to step in. Well, that was a horrible error on my part! Very meat-centric, but I opted for a plate of rice and red beans with some sweet plantains on the side - and was rewarded well. A big steaming plate for $8. When Danny's first opened, the food was really fresh and taste really good. Lately, the Plantains look like they've been there for days and taste aweful.The young lady, has always been friendly and serves you with a smile.I think the older guys who sometimes serves, is the owner. Every time we visit Poughkeepsie, we go to Danny’s. Very large, delicious dinners at an affordable price. We have never been disappointed. My brother lives close by and gets his lunch here at least once a week. I cannot choose a favorite, is ALL delicious!!!
