Cool atmosphere, very nice staff. Underwhelming food. The flavors weren't bad just...not great. Chicken confit was cooked well, but small portions.

I'm still reeling from our incredible dinner experience at Kam Rai Thai! After a fantastic lunch visit in the fall of 2023, I knew I had to return for dinner - and it exceeded all expectations! The menu's regional cuisine breakdown offers an impressive range of options, making it hard to choose just a few (we ended up ordering 8 dishes!).Each dish was a masterclass in flavor and presentation: the spicy kick of the Papaya Green Salad, the tender Roti Massaman, the rich Kam Rai Mang, the seafood-packed Tum Yum, the tangy Geang Som Pla, the creamy Green Curry Scallop, the sweet and savory Pineapple Duck Curry, and the bold Pork Larb Muang. Every bite was a delight! The generous portion sizes and beautiful plating made each dish feel like a special treat. And to our surprise, we devoured every last morsel! The crew at Kam Rai Thai truly knows how to deliver an unforgettable dining experience. If you're looking for a more low-key experience, their lunch special is also a winner - less crowded, same great flavors!Huge thanks to the team at Kam Rai Thai for an unforgettable night out. Can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

For ~$50 per person, my expectations were tasty foods. We ended up with subpar run-of-the-mill thai takeout foods.

To be honest I'm very surprised that this place has 4.8 stars, I decided to order food from here only because of this and was very disappointed. I called them on Wednesday evening 2 times while I was omw there, no one picked up the phone. I thought, okay, they are probably busy, but when I got there, there were only 2 tables. Then I ordered to go, I was told to wait 15 minutes but I actually waited a full 32 mins! I ordered chicken pad see ew and beef pad thai, the food was 3/10. Pad see ew was way too sweet and my friend said that his pad thai had no flavor at all. We were not given any napkins, utensils, or any sauce. Overall a bad experience, overpriced food, and 1 star from me.

What an incredible find! I love Thai food and this is hands-down the best Thai restaurant in NYC. The entire staff was so friendly and accommodating and took great care to make sure we had a wonderful experience. Even the chef came out to greet us and make sure he got the spicy levels right for each of our dishes. I had the Pad See Ew with vegetarian duck, which was the best I have ever had. Highly recommend!!!!Vegetarian options: The vegetarian duck (in the pad see ew) is the best I have ever had!!

The owner was very attentive, asking us many questions on our preferences to see what would be best for us. You could tell he really cared. And the food was superb - one of the best Thai food I’ve had in NYC!

We came here on a whim for lunch and will 1000% be returning! First off, the interior of this place is SO cute. The service was extremely quick and the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal, my partner and I agreed it is the best Thai food in the city hands down. We both got the drunken noodles and when my partner asked for it extra spicy they gave him some house made Birds Eye chili oil. Amazing experience, definitely recommend

One of our favorite thai restaurants in Astoria. The food is so delicious and everything is always so fresh and typically homemade (highly recommend the curry puffs, and roti!) Will definitely be coming back!
