Use to be excellent. Last two times we were there the food was terrible as was the service. Very disappointed.
My husband and 3, 14 year olds enjoyed trying this place out. We live 1.5 hours away. But I’ve always wanted to try it so we made the drive. Tail O' the Pup is a popular seasonal restaurant that operates from May to October. According to reviews, the food at Tail O' the Pup is consistently delicious, with generous portions and a wide variety of menu items, including BBQ ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and even lobster. The restaurant is known for its classic Adirondack-style atmosphere and lively music. The service is attentive, and the outdoor seating provides a pleasant dining experience, although customers should be prepared for some bugs. The restaurant is especially busy during the summer months, so arriving early is recommended to avoid long lines. Many visitors appreciate the good quality of food, which is often better than expected given the price, and some mention that the meal can be a bit over priced. The potato salad and cole slaw are highlighted as particularly good, with fresh and tasty flavors. Fried shrimp and the lobster dish have received positive comments for their quality. The fish and chips are good, though the waffle chips might be undercooked or not as fresh. Overall, Tail O' the Pup is a solid choice for anyone seeking tasty food and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere in the Adirondacks, and it remains a place worth visiting for a fun and enjoyable dining experience.
