“I went here for my brother's bday. Brought our own cake.Great vibe. Food delicious seriously the best wings in Albany. Wings are fresh n crispy outside juicy inside. Lots of variety flavors. My sister had the shrimp wrap and everything was fresh and taste great. DRINKS are great. And service was excellent. Safe location and clean bathrooms. Big parking lot too right across the street.“
“This is a very classy and fun place to unwind after a long week of work. Very clean with great tasting food and a wide variety of drinks. This is 100% an must go place for good and enjoyable times. Service was very attentive to our needs, even with one of our picky friends ?.Wheelchair accessibility: I'm not in a wheelchair. However, I was happy to see that they have a smooth, easy to use wheelchair ramp.“
“The food was very good, I'd strongly recommend a visit! I'm sad that it's no longer a topless or bikini bar but would still visit again if I'm in the area. If they went back to being topless I'd go out of my way to visit.“
“We need this place in San Diego, California! This is a very cozy and welcoming local gastropub with great eats, excellent drinks, and the staff provide the best service experience I’ve experienced in awhile!!!! Espresso martini’s and other specialty drinks tantalize the tastes buds like never before!!! YUMMY!!!!“
“We stopped by at the end of the day on a Friday. First, the atmosphere inside was cheery and welcoming. It reminded me of a bar like the old series “Cheers” or the Ben Affleck movie “The Tender Bar” - people were gathered like old friends at the end of a long work week. Katy was the bartender and server - very welcoming, upbeat- we can’t say enough about the great service we got. Now the food - we had read great reviews from Facebook and finally had a chance to try it out. We were not disappointed! This is pub food better than best - it’s the real deal. First we started with an order of honey BBQ bone in wings (they have many sauce flavor options)- best we’ve had in the capital region - hot, crispy, large sized and absolutely delicious. Next we tried the plain Mac and cheese and it, too, was delicious- lovely melted cheese on top of cavatappi pasta with a lovely blend of creamy cheeses underneath. We didn’t need to add any salt because the flavors were perfectly delicious already. Next we had the pulled pork sandwich that came with Cole slaw and their homemade, hand cut fries. I opted for onion rings. Can’t even begin to describe how delicious everything was - the pulled pork had excellent smoky tenderness, the Cole slaw was delicious — (too many places just can’t make a good Cole slaw but this place has it down !)And then there are the fries and onion rings - wow - both were excellent! Super flavor and perfect light crispy texture- haven’t had good fries/onion rings like this in years! The menu had many other pub fare options from chicken to salads and burgers. It’s a small cozy place inside, people are very friendly. Highly recommend this place. Katy was great and she makes a top notch White Russian. Our hats go off to the chefs/cooks for the extra mile on serving amazing pub food that sets this place apart from so many other places in the Capital Region“
“One of the best experiences we've had in a long time. Food was fantastic and great price. Would like to thank the manager Josh in the Troy, NY location for providing such amazing customer service! Appreciate him for going above and beyond and making our time there so enjoyable.“
“Love the vibe, the food. Ed the owner and Casey our server could not have been more accommodating.Wings were HUGE. Very tasty. The Angus burgers and Ruben were cooked perfectly. The onion petals a different touch.Great fries, good Guinness. All in all all a wonderful dinner in a nice sports bar.“
“Step into Johnnie's Daughter and you're transported to a world where excellence in soul food reigns supreme. As you savor each bite, the ambiance of the restaurant envelops you in a warm embrace of nostalgia. Good old-school music fills the air, setting the perfect backdrop for a soulful dining experience. However, while the music adds to the charm of the place, some patrons may find it could use a modern update to appeal to a broader audience.Nevertheless, the true essence of Johnnie's Daughter lies in its authenticity, captured best by Mel Waiters in his iconic song "Hole in the Wall." It's a place where time seems to stand still, allowing guests to indulge in the simple pleasures of good food and great company.Overall, Johnnie's Daughter is a gem of a restaurant, serving up soulful dishes that hit all the right notes. With a few tweaks to the ambiance, it has the potential to become a timeless favorite for generations to come.“
“I was surprised at how expensive it was. It is a very nice place. The food was excellent and service good. And the ambiance is unique and interesting. However, the prices were unreasonable high, for my taste. For example, one of us had a hamburger - $18 and a draft beer $9.“
“Sat outside for a meal and a few drinks. They serve the best cider on tap I have to say. Had a meatball parm and fried pickles, all of which was good. But the server/bartender was so nice, friendly and helpful that she definitely assured my return next time I’m in Albany.“
“Irish tavern that I was a regular of during the pandemic as it was on a common route. Food prices are amazing, plenty of specials. I once asked for a barbecue jalapeno chicken quesadilla and he made it the weekly special. Parking is in the back off Ontario Street take a right off new Scotland and another quick right.“
“Great little sports bar and almost every food item we have tried..No complaints! Some bartenders/servers are better than other depending on who you get as far as service/friendliness. Overall, A great spot to share a few laughs and be around good company while watching a game.“
“A very nice area to come and enjoy the night. The inside is not too large but it includes a dance floor a bar and an outside balcony area. They serve hookah which was a nice and in the summer the patio allows for a good breeze. The drinks were well made and they change up the nights so you can definitely find something you will enjoy. The crowd can be young at times but I would definitely come back.“
“Pricey wings still even though price of wings has come down since COVID. But they were good. Burgers were average. Bathroom was a mess but they were busy and I'm sure it wasn't a priority at that point. Our server was awesome though. Polite, helpful and friendly.“
“Love this placeVegetarian options: Before I was allergic to dairy I ate other dishes. There always good and good service and there usually appropriately staffed, and all the machines are usually working I go once every few months for date night my man and I love this place. Now that I'm allergic to dairy they have somethings on the menu including vegan patties and a few others.Dietary restrictions: I had a dish that was really good but forgot the name. But it came with soy sauce and was delightful.“
“Went here while up in Albany for ITAP training, with colleagues . Nice restaurant/Pub. Cozy interior. I ordered the Rueben sandwich with fries, so did 2 of my colleagues. Excellent choice. One colleague ordered the delicious meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Service was great, so were the prices. I would definitely come back here, and recommend this place ?“
“That may have been the best cheeseburger I've had in my entire life. The burger was excellent, the fries were excellent, the drinks were excellent, the service was excellent. Took my 11 year old son here for lunch and we both left happy and satisfied. Nice work, Junior's !“
“Applebees has improved in the last 20 years. They have refocused and reworked their business plan. They are family friendly and the food is top notch. This location was slammed during my visit and the wait staff tried their best but needed more staff to earn 5 stars for service. However, this is a good place for a family meal or a date night. The decor is clean and well maintained. Stop in soon. You'll enjoy everything including their prices.“
