“Absolutely fantastic food in generous portions. The owner made sure we had a lovely time and even brought out a traditional Ethiopian stringed instrument and played a few measures for us. There is a sign that says they offer a vegetarian buffet during the week. No I am a huge fan of Ethiopian food and my only regret is that I’m just passing through and will only have one more chance to eat there again before we leave.Vegetarian options: Since many Ethiopians are Coptic Christians, they embrace many vegetarian dishes for religious reasons. You’ll find many selections from appetizers to Entrees.“
“First time coming and it was an incredible experience. I enjoyed each dish I had. The blend of spices in each unique dish was indescribable. The Chai was the best I've ever had. I don't identify as vegan or vegetarian but this will be a regular spot for me going forward. I love the atmosphere and it was clear to see this was a special spot as regulars knew the staff by name.“
“I love Abyssinia’s food. I had never tried an Ethiopian menu until my daughter introduced me to it. Now we have been lunching here monthly on the weekend, when it is very quiet. We always get the same thing, which for me is raw beef, wonderfully spiced. I have become known as Kitfo (raw beef) Mama. My daughter orders an array of vegetarian choices, and then we share. There is something very pure about the food, and the family is very sweet. I highly recommend it to those with an adventuresome palate.“
