Stopped in on a sunny winter day. Tyler was the absolute best host! Full of great wine knowledge and so hospitable. A must do in the Finger Lakes region.
We wandered into Living Roots Rochester location on a whim on Mother’s Day this past spring. When I say we fell in love, that would be an understatement. The wine is exquisite; something for every palate. The space is beautiful; inviting and comfortable through the changing of the seasons. The windows are wide open with fresh air in warmer months and the tasting room is cozy during our typical upstate winters. The staff is exceptional and make you feel like you are at home. Ultimately, the ROC location and staff knock it out of the park with their hospitality, space, and most of all their delectable wines. We are so lucky to have them as part of our community.
Living Roots is doing it right. They have unique wine flavor combos by bringing Australia and the Finger Lakes together. Plus, wine flights which is just a unique and delicious idea. The overall urban atmosphere, vibe, and great service make it a perfect place to stop for a glass or two.
Living Roots is Awesome and so am I
How do you avoid the curse of the upstate climate only making for good whites? Have a vineyard in Australia as well. Living Roots produces wine in the Finger Lakes as well as Australia, giving them a more balanced menu than most.
I do wish there were heartier snacks, but what they have is pleasant, and their atmosphere is tops.
WOW, just wow. Went with a friend to celebrate some good news. The wine flight was exceptional, enough of a pour to try different pairings. For someone who's not vegan, the Vegan charcuterie was delicious. The relaxing atmosphere lead to s'mores cake and coffee. The servers were attentive and fun. We will definitely be going back.
I had an outstanding experience with Living Roots Rochester! Will was exceptional in helping with the booking of our private tour, ensuring everything went smoothly. Shomari, our sommelier, was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with our group. He not only answered all our questions but also delved deeply into the history of the wines, showcasing his genuine passion and attention to detail. This was hands down the best private wine tour I’ve ever experienced. A huge thank you to Shomari and Will for an unforgettable experience!
Great server. Nice selection of wine. The slice of salted caramel chocolate cake was fabulous
First time here and really liked the space. We didn't try any food (cheese boards), but the off-dry reisling was very good.
We really enjoyed our stop at Living Roots (Urban Winery). Nestled in an area with some restaurants and local breweries, this was our favorite stop during our trip. The architecture of the building is cool, the staff was excellent and the wines we had were great (Nero)! The do not have a full menu, but did offer snacks. The popcorn and chips were both good. The bread was top notch and worth the trip alone lol!The layout is inviting we an "L" shaped bar area and plenty of tables. We also noticed a small private room they must have available for special events too. We did like the vibe and would definitely stop again when we are back in the area!HINT:Note that you do need a code to the door for the bathroom which was spacious and very clean.

FANTASTIC Private Wine Tasting!!! We had so much fun. Of course, the wines were great and our host, Shomari, was fabulous! So knowledgeable and funny. HIGHLY recommend you grab a group of friends and schedule a tasting!
Great wine in a fantastic space. The staff are super knowledgeable and more importantly friendly
Love this place, they have an amazing vegan charcuterie board with locally made vegan cheeses and meats. The wine is great too. 10/10 would recommend. It also has a great vibe and ambiance #Veganuary
Finally made it in to try some of these wines, and I'm glad we did! The interior is absolutely gorgeous, spacious with lots of tables with a generous space between them. In addition to what turned out to be very good wines (!), they have a small food menu and other beverages. We took our server's advice and got a snack, the "small" charcuterie which turned out to be more than enough for two. We will definitely be back, that we were walk-ins. You can also reserve a table- highly recommended on a weekend!
All around the perfect wine bar-style tasting room experience. Unpretentious, reasonably priced, and delicious. As a visitor, a flight was the way to go - but if I lived locally, I could easily see this being my weekly stop for my favorite glass.
