The first thing to point out: this is a CASH ONLY restaurant. I could’ve missed it? but the company should put a sign on the outside/before the main seating area about it being cash only**

once we went to pay & neither of us had enough cash, the woman signaled to a sign that was somewhere in the wall of the seating area. They could also ask people “have you been here before?” & if no, let the customer know then.

Anyways, I was directed to an ATM at the restaurant across the street, but come to find out, that information was outdated. I ended up going down the street to the gas station then returning. I know these are a lot of words, & overall it was not the biggest deal, but they could certainly set up people better.

Besides that, speaking for my own food, it was underwhelming. The sandwich I got had no sauce or real flavor - I will say the fries were good though! Also, I admit the lady serving us wasn’t exactly rude, but definitely came off abrasive.

Probably won’t come here again, the whole money situation led up to a pretty awkward leave.

Good food, made on the premises, and super-friendly owners. I am a long-time customer, and I truly enjoy each and every visit. Love you folks!

Tried this for the first time yesterday and the food was great! The older decor and simple set-up makes for a relaxed environment. Their specials menu was really interesting and had some fun options. The raspberry apple French toast was super tasty. Their cold brew with caramel foam was also incredibly good. For a traditional Greek diner, they have some really good modern takes on food. Definitely recommended! This diner is cash only :)

Small cozy atmosphere, plenty of tables open and the owners work the kitchen and front room. The one time it was particularly slow, I talked at length with the wife. She is very sweet.

you know what's not fun? to call, order food, get there and then be informed they only take cash. wouldn't that be the first thing you tell somebody when they order? apparently not. what's even more fun is playing this game while towing your little kids around. they're lucky my husband is a nice guy and drove all the way home to get cash.

Morningstar is a local brunch spot nestled in the Culver-Merchants neighborhood in Rochester you don’t want to miss! Just had the most delightful brunch experience here with my partner.This is a family run, Greek American restaurant with a casual, old-timey feel. The lady hosting and serving us couldn’t have been more pleasant, welcoming and attentive. We both had one of the specials with Greek yogurt drizzled with honey and topped with pomegranates - one of the best things I’ve eaten in the past year - as well as over medium eggs topped with tzatziki and feta, served over spinach dill rice with a side of oregano French bread toast and fresh fruit. The food had vibrant flavors and was just the right amount to feel satisfied but not too heavy.I highly recommend this place if you want a relaxing weekend brunch spot with delicious Greek American food and a delightful atmosphere. (Cash or check only).

I can't recommend this place more. Great breakfast, at a great price.Ended up trying this place since they were right down the street and ended up going on a weekly basis.If you're in town, I HIGHLY recommend.

This is my favorite place to eat for breakfast or lunch.

Love this out of the way place for breakfast. No matter how many people are there you can still have a conversation. Family owned and operated. Very nice I recommend
