I really liked the food and the vibes at Thali, the butter chicken is my top in Rochester right now. But I gotta say, I was slightly disappointed with the service. When we came in, it took a while for any server to even notice us, and I had to kind of ask for a menu or service. Great food & pretty good about dietary restrictions IME As someone with a capsaicin intolerance from severe GERD, you can probably imagine that Indian food doesn't usually get along with my stomach. But I love the flavors enough to occasionally risk it & ask for the mildest possible heat level (/no chilies). I drove in from Buffalo on the rec of a close friend who went to the U of Rochester and loved this place. I didn't believe there were any Indian buffets left post-COVID, so I was happy to see Thali thriving.
