Caracas Arepa Bar, open only during the summer, is a hidden gem serving delicious arepas that stand out from the usual beach food. The arepas have the perfect corn shell and generous fillings, with a must-try being the #1 pabellon. Vegetarian options are available, including plantains and mushrooms. The house sauce is a highlight, and the frozen slushies and Sangrias are also recommended. The restaurant has a unique concept, blending ingredients to create a symphony of flavors in each bite. Customers love the frozen Sangria, taro fries, and the great music. The place is located in front of the beach, and the arepa de pabellon is very well prepared, with very Venezuelan flavors. The Tequenos with Caracas sauce are also tasty and reasonably priced. Despite some previous issues with ambiance, the food, drinks, and excellent service make it a worthwhile visit to Rockaway Beach.
