I have been here a few other times and loved it. I expected last night to be the same, it was not. My boyfriend and I ordered the weekend 3 course special. He ordered the steak. When it came he did not like the way it looked. He took a bite and said it is very chewy. as a non meat eater I have no idea what that means. After a few bites he choked. I am not sure I was ever so scared. Very very frightening. Thank god he was able to dislodge the steak. A few staff members noticed, most did not. However quite a few patrons noticed. The people at the next table had asked if he choked on a bone because they ordered something that was supposed to be boneless and it had a piece of bone. They asked if it was the special and when we said yes they said that explains it. Said they have been here often and will never be back because of their experience tonight. My boyfriend will not stop talking about how his steak was the worst steak ever and that is independent of his choking on it but I believe the cause of the choking. Our waitress was very nice, however it was terrible service. She never once came back to ask if we needed another drink or anything. We asked a bus boy to get her for our dessert order. Someone must have known because at some point another waiter came over to then take our dessert order which we already gave but asked him for the check which he never gave us. The whole experience was terrible. I would think it was just an anomaly but after speaking to the other couple I do not think it is. Very shocking from a ROTHMANN restaurant.

We went on a weeknight and all 4 of us ordered off the prix fix menu - quite the bargain. Full size appetizer and entree, glass of wine and dessert. The portions were large, the food was excellent. For a week night the restaurant had a large crowd, but we were still able to talk and enjoy ourselves. This was my first time there, but I would definitely go back, and our friends agreed.

Busy on a Sat nite but service while a bit slow was still within a 90 minute dinner for two. Food was served fresh and hot and delicious. I have been there many times and seldom disappointed Huge prtions for two that can be shared by four. I will be back

From the moment we sat at our table to the end of the meal -the service, wait staff and diinner from appetizer to dessert made for an amazing night!! Can't wait to go back!! The burrata appetizer was delicious, as was the baked clams! The Caesar salad was so light on the dressing- just perfect and so flavorful!! Highly recommend Matteo's!
This was the first time going to this restaurant. We enjoyed the three course dinner special which was a very good option. The generous sized appetizer portions allowed for fellow diners to taste each others choices - the burrata was creamy and delicious, calamari light and crispy and the baked clams rich and tasty. The whole branzino was flakey and cooked perfectly. For dessert the biscotti were fresh and warm and cannoli cream was the best I have ever tasted!

Absolutely an overall great spot. If you like really good Italian food, and who does not like really good Italian food, then you must try matteos. The atmosphere is loose and fun. The service is exemplary. The menu is somewhere traditional with a few of the chefs choices also available. You can't go with no matter which you decide. Cooked to perfection and to your liking. The prix fixe is a true value at $40 per. Portions are not reduced from this menu at all... Wine list is extensive. Buon appetit!

A group of baseball moms met at Matteo's for dinner. We had the perfect round table so we can all talk together. Service was excellent. The manager came to our table to check that all was fine. Food was delicious (we all picked different apps and entrees). We shall return again with our families. NOTE: The Sunday-Thursday prixe fixe menu ($39.99 pp and includes a glass of wine) was perfect for our group.

If you are not going to honor requests then do not ask Diners for one. I have been there many times and The younger manager was just so rude it was appalling . He didn't even apologize on how he spoke to me. Don't tell me that you can't hold a table all night for someone when they arrived on time for their reservation and had made the request and seated an incomplete party at the table that you had requested. NOT NICE.

Matteo's is a great restaurant! Their food is consistently terrific, and their portions are embarrassingly large. The waiters are professionals and the ambience is typical southern Italian. One of my favorite restaurants!
