A Perfect Evening!
We had a wonderful evening celebrating two birthdays with a group of eight, and everything about the experience was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and professional. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our celebration feel special.

was surprised to find an authentic sushi restaurant in Long Island. Have to seat in the sushi counter to enjoy the dining experience. Wait staff services could improve. No need to rush the customers.
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent service and delicious food. No wait with reservations. Bar staff is A-game.

Okaru is a standout restaurant offering high-quality modern Japanese food with beautiful presentation and incredible flavors. The ambiance blends Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics, creating a visually appealing dining space that enhances the overall experience. The restaurant is known for its tasting menu, which features a variety of delicious courses, including Tuna Tart with shaved truffles, Kumamoto oysters with uni and sriracha spheres, and Seared scallops with cauliflower crème curry. Other highlights include Seared tuna with foie gras, a selection of Sashimi, and a memorable dessert trio featuring Japanese Whiskey bread pudding and sweet kakigori.
While the restaurant can be loud, making it less suitable for quiet conversations, the service is attentive and seamless, ensuring guests feel well cared for. Although the tasting menu is on the higher side at $195 per person, many diners find it to be a reasonable value considering the quality and creativity of the dishes. Okaru is also family-friendly, with amenities for children. Overall, it is highly recommended for those looking to indulge in an extraordinary culinary experience, with many eager to return for special occasions.
