Fat Paulie's Deli and Bagels is a great little spot and a legit Long Island-style deli tucked away in Saratoga, just outside of downtown. It is considered the absolute best of its kind in the capital region. The food is made to order, always fresh, good quality, and reasonably priced. Popular menu items include a fantastic bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll, a perfect egg and cheese, and excellent heroes like the roasted pork with broccoli rabe and the brisket hero, which is absolutely delicious. The Reuben is also hailed as the best. Their meatballs are noted as being better than most formal Italian restaurants.
The service is great, with staff described as extremely pleasant, friendly, and efficient. It is a major option with parking in the back and online ordering ahead. The lines can occasionally be long and service sometimes takes a bit, likely due to high demand, but it is always worth the wait. The atmosphere is that of a busy deli with first-come, first-serve tables, where diners can expect people walking around them as they eat. It may not be ideal for an extended meal, but it is absolutely worth going to and highly recommended for anyone looking for a bite to eat. Delivery orders are also packed well and arrive hot and fresh.
