Phenomenal classic dishes as well as new culinary concepts, served artfully by Ryan, and an ambiance that feels like home. Nick Byrne has done an outstanding job of carrying on the Osteria Danny tradition while adding his own craftsmanship.
Excellent small Italian restaurant with a refined menu and outstanding service. The Caesar salad, lumache pasta and bananas Foster cheesecake were all fantastic. Service was very friendly and helpful. I dined solo at the bar one night and the bartender was great and then returned the next night with a friend because the did was so wonderful. Even though they were very busy, they fit us in without a reservation, which was very nice. They are very popular, so recommend making a reservation well in advance. One of the best restaurants in Saratoga Springs.
My husband made a special reservation for my birthday celebration dinner at the bar for 7 PM, and we received a confirmation. When we arrived, the restaurant told us there had been a mistake and they had no space available—not even the manager came out to apologize. Disappointing, especially since this used to be a fantastic place before it was sold. Good luck keeping those high ratings with service like this!
Lost their pizazz. Tasteless food. Haughty reception. Unfriendly servers. Won’t be back. Very disappointed with this place including the uncomfortable seating. REALLY!!
What is going on with Trip Advisor? If this restaurant is #1, then I'd hate to see #10. Over priced, small 1 page menu on copy machine, Good Will furniture and plastic place mats. Worst bland caesar salad, asked for anchovies (never broght), super expensive. Don't mind paying over $200 for two, but the food and service must correspond.
A friend recommended this restaurant as she’d been there twice and had great experiences, but unfortunately our visit did not match hers. We liked the decor and the little corner table we were given, and our server was fine. I had a good arugula salad to start, which was a special that night, and my husband’s Caesar salad was solid. The main courses were disappointing - I had a fish dish that was a special that came on a bland risotto with a gloppy sauce that congealed as I ate it. My husband’s rigatoni had only a few pieces of chicken in it, so it was hard to see how a bowl of pasta and sauce with little, protein justified the relatively high cost of $32. Overall the cost was high for what we felt was not a particularly inspired dinner. And the most annoying facet was the loud 70s rock playing the whole time - not at all in keeping with the feel of an upscale Italian restaurant or the relaxed night out we were hoping for.
We are locals and go in the off season but since family members with Celiac have gotten sick EVERY TIME, I don't recommend Danny O's. They don't understand GF and they don't care either.
We had a reservation made online and confirmed via email for the dining room. When we arrived 10 minutes early, we were told that the only table available for us would be at the bar, which we did not want. The manager tried to buy us off by offering is a drink, which we declined. We were treated rudely and left. I learned that the place was recently sold and newly managed. This might explain our experience. We left and are now sitting at another restaurant that welcomed us. Looking forward to a meal here, and never to return to Danny's
Just our second visit to Osteria Danny. First was with out of town friends a couple of years ago; last night was just my wife and me - we sat at the bar with a reservation. I can't rave enough about OD. It's so well run. The food is exquisite - we shared a burrata ravioli and then I dived into Danny's special meat pasta while my wife enjoyed a cod / risotto special. The wine list is solid; the cocktails are especially well crafted. The bartender (huge call-out to Shannon - she is a rock star) was so pleasant and so professional. It is so evident how the entire staff hum as a team - everybody helping everybody throughout the busiest part of the evening without anything feeling either rushed or lagging. We're coming back again. Soon!
We were in Saratoga Springs for 4 nights. While we ate at several great restaurants, we all thought this was our favorite meal. Great food and generous portions.

5 Stars!! Danny’s never disappoints! We had a wonderful dinner!! Shane was our waiter and had great recommendations! We can’t wait to come back!
We are new to town for two nights so we went on trip advisor reviews to this restaurant. The ambiance and service was wonderful and it was a very enjoyable meal….relaxed and lovely. My husband had the bucatini and I had the duck ragu. Both were well executed. We also got the shrimp appetizer which was good. We shared the salted caramel gelato which was a nice way to end the meal. Our only comment was that my husband said his bucatini needed salt but it didn’t stop up from finishing it entirely.
Always a phenomenal experience. We dine here often and the staff treat us exceptionally and the food is consistently great. Cocktail menu and wine list is top tier too. I highly recommend the badda bang shrimp appetizer, short rib, bolognese, and the chicken vodka rigi! Thank you Danny!!

Friendly and casual with Top notch food. We started with a Pork Cheek and Risotto appetizer and had to order a second one it was so delicious! My vodka rigatoni had shredded chicken cooked right into the sauce taking it up a notch. On a recommendation we tried the Coconut Cream Pie and it didn’t disappoint.
