“One of my favorite places to have breakfast on a Saturday morning is The Hudson Valley Dessert Co. Connie and everyone at the bakery always put love into everything they make! This morning I got an egg and Asiago sandwich with avocado and homemade sausage that they make there! It was (and always is,) delicious! I got a cup of hazelnut hot chocolate to have with it!(Please forgive the half-a-sandwich photo. I was so ready to eat it, I forgot to take a photo of the whole sandwich. ?)Kid-friendliness: The staff are so sweet and very interactive with not just my son, but all the other kids who come in as well! It really is a great place to bring the family for an amazing experience and a great treat!“
“I got gas there last week. The pump shut off so I assumed I pumped all the gas. I realized later that night that I didnt get all the gas I paid for. I called and explained the situation. I pulled up a full week later and he had my cash in the safe. A very honest and stand up individual! Thank you!“
“Brine Barrel is my exact favorite kind of shop. Most places try to offer a million and a half different things and do most of them okay. Not Brine Barrel. He does like 10 things, and they are all fantastic. The pickles will absolutely destroy anything mass produced. You don't know what you are missing until you have had hand made small batch. The pepper shooters are absolutely must-try. An explosion of savory salty flavors. The sandwiches are good quality, and really well thought out on how much of each ingredient they have. He cuts the more expensive cured meats thick which makes a huge difference to the texture. The place is great. Give it a shot.“
“The only service I got when I went to the short guy and he ask me if I'm looking for pizza I told Yes I gave him my order what I wanted then 15 minutes later the girl said to me if I was all set when I'm waiting for my pizza they ask me if I order she too much on her cellphone instead helping customers. I give my Service stars to the guy“
“I’ve been driving past this place for a while and I was always curious. I finally stopped in and was mad at myself immediately for not coming sooner. The staff were very friendly, didn’t rush us, and made our food in record time. Ordered a patty melt and fries, great. Prices are very reasonable. If Mara’s is open and I’m driving by, I’m stopping.“
“Amazing Deli!!! I was here on business and needed a lunch catered for 20 the next day. So I stopped by to talk to them, from the minute I walked in the door they were super friendly and accomidating. The italian loaf bread was so fresh, the meats and cheeses were sliced fresh, and the toppings are paired perfectly! I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. Everyone loved lunch!“
“Stopped in here coming off the highway looking for a decent deli. Run by mother-daughter duo, we met the mother. She seemed to know everyone by name that came in (excluding us out of towners). Super polite, generous portions, bread was tasty and fresh. Exactly what we wanted. Would definitely recommend stopping by.“
“Best subs around! Super friendly staff, and they NEVER get my order incorrect. They use Boars Head products, which is important to us because other deli meats cause my son to develop migraines. Subs are made super fast, and are chock full of products. No skimpy sandwiches! Good prices too.“
“Definitely come here if you're looking for a sub sandwich. We shared a turkey and cheese sub and it was fresh and delicious. Read the expiration dates on the snacks. Those are not too fresh.Parking: Lots of parking for just about any type of vehicle.Kid-friendliness: Lots of good snacks and treats just watch the expiration dates on some stuff.Wheelchair accessibility: A little tough to get in the front door with my wheelchair but once I got in it wasn't too bad...a little tight and some spots. A lot of tables inside and two picnic tables outside.“
“I love this place! GREAT FOOD! Very nice people! Excellent selection of goods! Don’t skip Curry Night every Tuesday! This is the best small family-run convenience store in the Hudson Valley! They always have what I need, even organic milk! They have an ATM, hot coffee, homemade local ice cream, personal and home essentials. There is a nice selection of drinks, coconut waters, V8, hydration drinks like the elusive and very popular ‘Prime’ and a ton of beer to choose from. Very recently I left my milk at the store but since I had just called the owner called me back to let me know that I left it there and that he let his staff know about it and that I could come pick it up when I wanted to. I really appreciated the effort since I completely forgot! The gesture was so kind! I like that they have a shelf of free books. The burger and fries are very good here. Otherwise I’ll get a turkey sandwich or something else on their menu like the mozzarella sticks (which are seasoned and they actually taste good). Their soup is some of the best soup I’ve ever had—it’s restaurant quality. I told the owner it tastes like restaurant quality soup and he said he has a friend chef that makes the soups. The first soup I tried was the roasted corn & chicken chowder and the second was a cream of mushroom. Both blew me away! Their baked good are from Deisings Bakery in Kingston and sometimes I will get a chocolate or cheese filled danish. Curry Night is my favorite occasion —You can feel the love in the food. Last time I had the Lamb Saag, Butternut Squash Bhaji, vegetable Pakora, and a Mango Lassi. I made a friend of mine try some and immediately they asked where I got it and they went visited for Curry Night. The flavors are spot on and the heat of the spices are perfect. In the summer they even make their own yogurt for the mango lassi (the owner said that it has to be warm enough for the yogurt to ferment properly). I covet the Bhaji which is usually a vegetable dish with cabbage or butternut squash cooked heart warming spices that give a nice heat. See you next Tuesday!“
