“On April 19th placed an order for pick their Easter Special roasted honey turkey, honey baked ham and side dishes. The staff members helpful, polite and courteous. My Easter dinner delicious. “Hicks Deli is a top tier deli and never disappointed me since this place opened ive been advocating all family and friends to try it out. My usual order is the #4 with a hash brown on top with salt pepper and hot sauce. Coffee is always hot and the line moves quickly if busy. “Around 1970 or so, there were two delis on Jericho Turnpike, Johnny’s and Werner’s. (honorable mention to Ardito’s, which is still there and apparently still owned by the Ardito’s). I noticed Werner’s was still there. Werner must be about 100 years old by now. When I checked it out I learned Werner’s isn’t really Werner’s anymore. I read a review that said the new owners would have made Werner proud. I have to agree. A little less emphasis on salads and catering, but great selection of specialty sandwiches, excellent fresh bread and rolls, and fair prices.“

Once the staple of many small western Long Island towns - there were a handful between Glen Head and Sea Cliff alone - few remain.There has been a deli in this location for decades, and while ownership has changed, the menu is just as diverse and flexible as those of 50 years ago.Their Reuben is delicious. The roast beef hero, excellent. Hot soups, good coffee, a nice variety of sides (i.e. coleslaw, potato, egg salads), rolls, and pastries. “My favorite place in the world. Consistent great quality food with great energy, and an awesome staff top to bottom. They also adapt to the times and offer new options for delivery and food for every type of person. Ive been coming for 37 years. Tastes like it did on day 1. Virginia's kitchen is about quality and consistency. The first bite of anything from here reminds you that you are home, in Locust Valley and who would want to be anywhere else. Hot food section is awesome, breakfast is unparalleled and lunch is memorable. Ive eaten everywhere in Long Island and at every deli in NYC and nothing comes close. Give it a try. You will see for yourself. Ive probably had over 10k sandwiches from here in my life. Honest as it gets. They have been feeding Locust Valley for 50 plus years.
