“Ate at the restaurant back in July 2025. They were struggling. Decided to try it again tonight. We met Michael the manager. He has this place dialed in. The food was off the hook. Drinks outstanding. The staff very attentive. I had to go outside to check the sign make sure I was in the right place. Atmosphere was great and the establishment was family friendly. Rumor has it they'll be offering brunch in three weeks. I plan to return with my sister and brother in law. I'm happy to report the White Whale is back and better than ever. Well done Michael!!!“
“It's a wonderful place, but it's even better if you have trouble fitting in with a more conventional/older crowd. That's a knock at most bars. There are no expectations here, and whether you come down on karaoke night (Thursday), or just for a random night out; the bartenders will never make you feel out of placeThey don't serve food, but there's a late night pizza place on one side and a 7-11 on the other side.It's literally a few seconds off of 135, so getting there is extremely easy.“

“We were looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat before going to a lecture at the Merrick Public Library. The photos of the food looked fabulous, so we decided to give Bourbon & Brews a try. We were greeted by Will, who rocks, offering happy hour specials and cocktails in a pint glass. Burgers were great, and the nachos were superior. Definitely will be back!“

“We held a family fun night in their back room this weekend, about 30 people. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! Thank you Amy & Jenny for such great bartending & waitressing!! Food was delicious, TVs for those wanting to watch the games, private bathroom, space for little kids to roam around- would definitely book here again!“

“Great bar! Love going there. Excellent bartenders and they have fantastic events and parties. And since they bought DiMaggios next door the food has taken a step up from their normally great food and specials. The place looks really nice, too! The people who go there are wonderful... stop in for a drink and food. You will not be disappointed and don't forget your darts.“

“The food is incredible!! And so are the drinks 👍Both my husband and myself were stuffed when we left. Jeff had the turkey burger and I had the lobster roll I asked if he wanted to split our meals but he liked his too much lol I had to eat most of the lobster off the top so I could eat it like a sandwich Took the picture after I ate a good portion off the top Mark and his crew are the best! For real, low key best family summer spot on the island. Entirely kid friendly tidal beach with more wildlife that you’ll know what to do with. Being a net and bucket if you have toddlers. Food is epic and beach side, bar is a MOVIE in a bait and tackle shop.
Endless summer and the most iconic family core memories.

“First time dining here and overall a really solid experience. The food was enjoyable — the lemon orzo soup was comforting, the lamb gyro taco had great flavor, and the chicken kebab skewers was cooked well. Drinks were a standout, especially the dirty raspberry martini, which was excellent.
The vibe is casual and relaxed. There were a couple small service hiccups, but nothing that took away from the meal. Overall, we enjoyed it and would definitely come back again.“

“Pretty typical neighborhood bar — pool table, dartboard, and a big food menu with all the usual favorites. I came in for the wings special I saw online, but it turns out the menu I found was about nine months old. Instead, it was Taco Tuesday. The tacos were good, not amazing, but definitely decent bar food.
The bartender/server was super friendly and kept things moving even though she seemed to be handling most of the bar on her own. The wings looked great when I saw a few orders come out — and apparently, they’re only 50¢ each on Wednesdays from 7pm to close, so I might have to come back to try them then.
Overall, a solid, laid-back spot for a casual night out.“
