I gave them 1 stars instead of 1 because they were one of the few places on the island open for lunch. That said, the fish and chips contained very little actual fish, and that cod was frozen rather than fresh. like the ferries, they only take cash. If you’re passing through, just plan to eat on either side of this island, or if not, skip this place. Bring lots of cash if you try it.

We arrived shortly before 3 and they were nice enough to let us in even though the kitchen was about to close. The absolute BEST burger I have ever had. I got the western burger and it was incredible. Service was friendly and fun. We loved everything about this quaint, local “un-Hamptony” spot. Brought me back to the good ole days of East End life. Too bad places like these are disappearing out east.

TLDR - RUDE SURLY WAITRESS - ZERO STARS. We stopped by on Saturday, September 2nd, while biking. We sat at one of the six picnic tables outside. The waitress helped another table and we flagged her down. She asked if we let them know inside that we were out here and we said no. She said we had to do that first, so my husband went in. We again flagged the waitress down to let her know we were ready to order and were asked if we had ordered drinks yet. We said no and were informed that we could not place our order until we had drinks. She stated that she was very busy and alone and could not take our drink or food order at that moment. Another staff member came out and took our drink and food order. The original waitress came flying over and told us she was not allowed to take our order and on she could. So we placed our order and our waters were delivered and then we waited..... and waited..... and waited...... and waited.....and waited....and waited. My husband went in to ask how much longer and the waitress was extremely rude to him. We decided it was time to go elsewhere and my husband cancelled our order. The waitress was again very surly. We moved on to SLICE and were served immediately and it was tasty.

Always good food and friendly service. Favorites: Fried chicken (so good and sometimes runs out), shrimp tacos, buffalo wings, burgers. Nice outdoor seating area and dog friendly. Consistent part of our rotation when on the island. Cash only or Venmo. Strongly recommend.
