“A very cool place, it has a nice menu with lots of choices for Mexican food and is affordable. You see work trucks come and go all day which is usually a sign of consistent quality and speed of service. Lots of other pantry type options which surprised me, supplements and healthy options. Also beer! Good to know since the pickins are slim on the island!”
“We arrived shortly before 3 and they were nice enough to let us in even though the kitchen was about to close. The absolute BEST burger I have ever had. I got the western burger and it was incredible. Service was friendly and fun. We loved everything about this quaint, local “un-Hamptony” spot. Brought me back to the good ole days of East End life. Too bad places like these are disappearing out east.”
“wonderful cafe with delicious breakfast. coffee was really good. the food was great. a friend in our party isn't able to have gluten and they had a delicious gluten free french toast. highly recommend.”
“One of the best meals I've had at VSC since it opened. They've upped their game by having multiple specials (in addition to their longstanding daily one). They are trying to source locally as long as quality is maintained. I had the bay scallop appetizer. Could have been my entree. So delicious, the scallops were from Nova Scotia as the Peconic Bay ones are in short supply. Lobster pot pie also lovely not too creamy. Tarte tatin was crispy. Jake our server was attentive and had a sense of humor.”
“We came here with our kids and had a great time! There are precious few family-friendly, low key places to entertain kids out on the East End and this place is great. It's been a local landmark for the few decades and feels like the places I grew up going to as a kid growing up on Long Island. The proprietor, Eric, was friendly and works hard keeping the place running smoothly. We played our 18 holes and threw down some cones and will definitely come back the next time we come through Shelter Island.”
“I was here with my family and our dog in November and we had a great time! They were friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Delicious beer and great vibes :)”
“We just got the tasting menu for take out. It was incredible! Every last bit of food was creative and super tasty. So delicious and the perfect portions. We will be back!”
“Great conversation and both owners, husband and wife, were very nice and proud of their business! Great little spot, not as bougie as most of GP. Food also hit the spot!”
“Fantastic, old-school diner Gus and the crew have been doing a great job forever! Spectacular homemade ice cream, excellent grilled cheese and the best fries around”
“Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just seeking a tranquil spot to unwind, this brewery in Sag Harbor offers a one-of-a-kind experience. It's a place where the beauty of nature meets the artistry of brewing, making it a must-visit destination for those who appreciate both craftsmanship and the serenity of a garden setting. Cheers to a blooming good time!”
“SPARKLING WINE HEAVEN ?????????~ with a side of OYSTERS ! My hunnnies Jeff and I were just there for their SPARKLING WINE and oyster experience! Its was SO DELISH and SO FUN!! It was a sparkling wine pairing served with local oysters! We had Michelle who was our server and SOOO KNOWLEDGEABLE about sparking wine, the pairing and wine in general! We had SO MUCH FUN and the place was BEAUTIFUL!!! DEF RECOMMEND if you love sparking wine and DEF RECOMMEND you look out for the next oyster pairing experience! While we were there and because I loveeee food, the oysters were not quite enough for me ?so we coupled our pairing with a LARGE ? cheese board AND of course a full glass of sparking wine at the end! ~ ??????? ~ beautiful, fun winery and I definitely recommend you check it out!! XOXO!! ~~???”
“Commendable from every aspect. Parking, waitstaff, view, and most importantly, the dinner. Another delicious experience from appetizers to desserts. Our table enjoyed the baby back ribs and burrata with figs as a start. Entrees included the filet mignon and the local striped bass. Vegetarian opted for the portobello mushroom. Topped off my experience with the chocolate martini for dessert. Luscious.”
“I don't understand the negative reviews of this wonderful place--terrific wood-cooked food, perfect service, nice people, including our server, Cheyenne. As good as many Michelin starred restaurants we’ve been to!”
“I came here as part of a wine bus tour. It was my least favorite of the three wineries we visited. We felt like just a number here, as it wasn't a very personalized experience. An employee came on to our bus to welcome us but after that, we were pretty much on our own. We tasted four wines, which were served in plastic cups. Other than brief descriptions printed on a sheet on the serving tray, not much information was shared about the wines. You could purchase hot dogs here as well as "sangria," which was basically just a rose spritzer. We walked through the vineyards but they were not as picturesque as other spots. One nice touch was that there was a band playing live music. It's a decent place to visit and a nice outdoor option to get out of NYC but wouldn't be at the top of my list to return to.”
“The most amazing coffee, cappuccino, biscotti and scones on the planet! Any trip to Greenport should include a visit to Aldo’s for fresh roasted coffee and scones. We regularly order on line to make the best home cappuccino possible.”
“We love coming to Almonds for a bistro meal, and charming friendly welcoming. They work as a great team, feels like family. We have been coming for a hundred years ??????”
“This is the best coffee around, and they roast in house. Traditionally I’m weary about in house roasters in a small town, but this place has it right. The baristas are very knowledgeable and efficient. As far as the space, it is rather small but quaint. If you are in the area and want 3rd wave coffee, this is going to be your best option available.”
“Where has this been my whole life?!! I'm always looking for fresh, healthy veggie meal options and couldn't be more obsessed with this place. The spicy sesame pita is my go-to but can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Place has such a cute chill vibe as well.”
“Hands-down, some of the best pizza around! It is always fresh, delicious, and most applicable seeing how expensive everything is which sadly makes it hard to support locals As much as one would want. But They truly are affordable here!. Not to mention accommodating as much as possible. I really like these guys, And the young students they employee. It’s hard to have service, Quantity and quality, but they seem to have all three! ?✌️”
“The lunch options were predominantly sandwiches, which I found to be both restrictive in choice. Moreover, I noticed that the menu leaned heavily towards carb-heavy dishes, making it challenging to find lighter options. Despite this, the food was great and the establishment exudes a distinct charm that sets it apart from others in the area. Service was commendable, adding to the overall positive experience. In conclusion, while there are some drawbacks, I would still recommend giving it a try for its unique atmosphere and enjoyable food.”
“Lucy is amazing - works behind the bar and out in the floor effortlessly. The food is fantastic but if the service stinks it doesn’t matter. Ellen’s hits the nail on the head.”
“They have a mid-skinny margarita which was a perfect blend of flavor for us. We also had the halloumi taco, the chicken taco and the steak taco, and they were so scrumptious. The guac and chips- very fresh!”
“Really nice classic cocktail menu with some with some more modern twists. Really nicely executed glassware, ice and attention to detail. The staff super professional.”
“I can not tell you how what I felt walking into this place with a nostalgic feel of the country and a mom and pops feel shop cozy and calm. Stress free. My coworker and I ordered a Italian on a roll. Wanted a hero but they were sold out. You know what they did? Packed the roll so big it made up for what we wanted and it was one of the best we ever ate. God bless you and the sweet woman back there. I hope we will be out there more to get more from you. So generous and caring. After eating that sandwich I wanted to give you guys a hug for how well you took care of us. Thank you. We will be back. If anyone is doubting just do it. It's a step back in time and such a great place. Thank you to you guys.”
“Best Chinese around. Would 100% eat here over new china every day. My only pet peeve is they’re not open late enough for me, since I’m a night owl, but the food is of high quality. Plus, the lady at the counter (Jenny) is so nice. My family has been going to them every since I was born.”
“Going to La Capannina for many years...I'm happy they are here in Wainscott...Albeit I would travel miles for their excellent Pizza, and entrees. Friendly staff, wonderful pizza. Frankly anyone that would give this less then 5 stars should be banned from East Hampton.”
“Always Delicious and amazing experience. Is a fusion of guatemalan/latin/ american cuisine. Everything is so delicious. The owners are amazing. It is very recommended for a small bite or a full meal.”
“Looking for something different? In Greenport, but, really, anywhere west of Portugal. ALPINA is an ingeniously conceived, boldly-sourced dining and drinking establishment unique within a (at least) 50-mile radius on Greenport's 365-day-a-year entertainment scene. You won't find fried clams, you won't find chicken 'parm', you won't find breakfast-all-day or any other American 'favorites'. You WILL find passionately engaged staff and first-class, Europe-inspired offerings interpreted for and by Long Island's metaphorical culinary ocean breezes. The space is intimate, compact; bar on one side, tables along the other wall, fostering lively exchange among guests . . . all youthful regardless of age. My line-caught trout in Champagne-with-fine-herbs sauce was I guess as close to Food Heaven as I will get in this world. The accompanying carrots and parsnips melt-in-your-mouth perfect. My darling's house-made Swiss sausage was as if sent over by Star Trek transporter beam directly from an alpine Italian kitchen. If you are lucky to score a reservation when Bagna Cauda Leeks are on the *Spuntini* menu, go for it; if it's the last thing you do, Go For It! More, please! Oh, and the bartender is a Picasso-level artist. I looked around at other tables . . . no two glasses were alike in terms of luminescence, garnish and sparkle. Glowing . . . fragrant . . . intoxicating. I'm afraid to go back. How could lightning (good lightning) strike twice in the same place?”
“For small town, Tavern, and restaurant, this is a real gem. The weight staff are great, the service is terrific, and the food is of high-quality. We live in the same town, and if we were a night out without stress, and expecting delicious food, this is our destination.”
“Very friendly staff and spacious indoor seating at this restaurant. The chicken bacon ranch slice is loaded with toppings which was delicious and super filling. I also really enjoyed the grandma slice. Margherita slice also tasty! We got an order of garlic knots but some parts of some pieces were clearly undercooked. However; overall had a great experience and it was just what we needed!”
