“Had the pleasure of my wife and I returning to one of our Islands restaurants, Isola last night and was really pleased. It’s nice to begin thinking of enjoying local restaurants after a summer of visitors, guests and other obligations. Really enjoyed the Cioppino with pasta. Sauce was wonderful, rich but not heavy and overbearing. It was filled with seafood, including shrimp, octopus, squid and shellfish. Totally enjoyable nice portion, so that I had enough to take home for lunch the next day. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the swordfish special served over various vegetables. It was prepared to perfection and the caper sauce complemented the entire dish. Really nice place to enjoy that is “affordable”.”

“Commendable from every aspect. Parking, waitstaff, view, and most importantly, the dinner. Another delicious experience from appetizers to desserts. Our table enjoyed the baby back ribs and burrata with figs as a start. Entrees included the filet mignon and the local striped bass. Vegetarian opted for the portobello mushroom. Topped off my experience with the chocolate martini for dessert. Luscious.”

“I came here as part of a wine bus tour. It was my least favorite of the three wineries we visited. We felt like just a number here, as it wasn't a very personalized experience. An employee came on to our bus to welcome us but after that, we were pretty much on our own. We tasted four wines, which were served in plastic cups. Other than brief descriptions printed on a sheet on the serving tray, not much information was shared about the wines. You could purchase hot dogs here as well as "sangria," which was basically just a rose spritzer. We walked through the vineyards but they were not as picturesque as other spots. One nice touch was that there was a band playing live music. It's a decent place to visit and a nice outdoor option to get out of NYC but wouldn't be at the top of my list to return to.”

“The lunch options were predominantly sandwiches, which I found to be both restrictive in choice. Moreover, I noticed that the menu leaned heavily towards carb-heavy dishes, making it challenging to find lighter options. Despite this, the food was great and the establishment exudes a distinct charm that sets it apart from others in the area. Service was commendable, adding to the overall positive experience. In conclusion, while there are some drawbacks, I would still recommend giving it a try for its unique atmosphere and enjoyable food.”

“Looking for something different? In Greenport, but, really, anywhere west of Portugal. ALPINA is an ingeniously conceived, boldly-sourced dining and drinking establishment unique within a (at least) 50-mile radius on Greenport's 365-day-a-year entertainment scene. You won't find fried clams, you won't find chicken 'parm', you won't find breakfast-all-day or any other American 'favorites'. You WILL find passionately engaged staff and first-class, Europe-inspired offerings interpreted for and by Long Island's metaphorical culinary ocean breezes. The space is intimate, compact; bar on one side, tables along the other wall, fostering lively exchange among guests . . . all youthful regardless of age. My line-caught trout in Champagne-with-fine-herbs sauce was I guess as close to Food Heaven as I will get in this world. The accompanying carrots and parsnips melt-in-your-mouth perfect. My darling's house-made Swiss sausage was as if sent over by Star Trek transporter beam directly from an alpine Italian kitchen. If you are lucky to score a reservation when Bagna Cauda Leeks are on the *Spuntini* menu, go for it; if it's the last thing you do, Go For It! More, please! Oh, and the bartender is a Picasso-level artist. I looked around at other tables . . . no two glasses were alike in terms of luminescence, garnish and sparkle. Glowing . . . fragrant . . . intoxicating. I'm afraid to go back. How could lightning (good lightning) strike twice in the same place?”

“I’ve been coming out to Wölffer for over 10 years & while out east this past wknd celebrating life & love I decided to book a cellar tour & tasting for my bf & I. Our tour guide Fairleigh far exceeded our expectations! Her passion for not only the history of the estate, wine making on LI and just wine making in general was captivating. Her ability to story tell, keep your attention while giving you moments of R&R were perfect. It was just the right amount of everything. Her thoughtfulness w capturing photos & just wanting us to experience the estate in a special way felt more like a hostess at her own home & we appreciated her warmth & welcome. A couple of moving moments on the tour brought our senses to reminiscing about our loved ones lost who were wine makers in our own traditional Italian families. We felt blessed to have experienced it. I truly loved sharing one of my favorite vineyards with my love in this way. Fairleigh, thank you for making this experience w Nicholas even more memorable!”
