SMH, yet again. Some places are simply not worth second chances. This place is just sad & infuriating. Not going to mince words. The audacity to serve an $18 chicken Marsala in a small bowl that is barely enough to feeds a child. Owners think that's cute, but it's not. No one should tolerate this cheapness. Talk about "Shrinkflation!". Service - what service, this a 2 person makeshift food cart. The lack of indoor diners during peak dinner time on a Saturday evening should be a warning sign. Wait you will, and you will also witness the poor Uber delivery saps waiting for their packages as well. The lady serving us brought serving plates from the china table near by, one at a time. Talk about inefficiency. I thought I died and waiting in Dante's Limbo. Ambiance - I've dined here many years ago until I had enough of the poor customer service and food quantities. Took an 8 year break and decided to give this "New" ownership a try. I'm more disappointed now than I was back then. Place is the same old raggedy place. Not one dollar invested in it. Old, tired, and dissapointing. No music, not ambiance, just a lifeless waiting room. I'll be honest, this is a business and the people running it have no business doing what they do. I'd rather drive 50 minutes to Jackson Heights, Queens, pay the tolls and gas to dine at an authentic Sri Lankan / Indian restaurant than drive few blocks to the New Dosa Garden.

Food is very good but service is terrible. This was final straw after ordering from them several times. If you order delivery website will say 35 minutes but shows up more than 2 hrs late and driver who is there regular tried to ask for more tips after I already gave him a tip. We decided to start picking up in person and takes just as long. (Live only 5 minutes from them) First time had to wait 30 additional minutes though website said to pick up 30 minutes. Next time I tried coming 45 minutes still needed more time. Today came 1 hr thinking that was enough time for them. They didn’t even start making it saying they didn’t see order yet. I had confirmation email/text and saw from distance ticket was placed they just didn’t see it. They said we will rush it make it right now just 15 minutes. I come back 15 minutes they say we need another 10 minutes. Restaurant always empty but takes forever for food to be made. Food is great but unfortunately we aren’t going back anymore because to many delays and headaches. If your hungry don’t expect the food anytime soon.

Yum! I just dined here again after several years away. The new management/menu is just as good as it was previously. My dining companions and I ordered some okra and chicken dishes. The spices were done to perfection and each dish was uniquely delicious. The service is good and the space is intimate/inviting. I highly recommend this gem!

Well, this was my first visit in their restaurant and I had a wonderful experience. I was craving for Dosa for last few months and finally I got to have it. It was tasty. Moreover, the stuffs are well behaved and friendly. The service was overall good. I have a suggestion for them. Maybe they need to upgrade their interior lighting and design which would attract more customers. Overall, I’ve a nice experience.

This place hasn't just gone downhill. It's plummeted. It used to be great, but now it's a rather horrible experience all around. It just seems as though they've chosen to cut corners every possible way. There's one woman taking the orders, and she is as slow as molasses...but not actually slower than the kitchen. A very simple order on a night when they were not busy took nearly an hour after saying it would be ready in 30 minutes, so I had the pleasure of waiting in a freezing cold restaurant that did not appear to have functioning heat. I felt very sorry for the one table of people who were attempting to eat while bundled in winter coats. By the way, I was waiting alongside an Uber Eats driver who'd said the restaurant notified the app that the food was ready, only to make him wait for a long time, so when your food is very late, know that it's 100% the fault of this now terrible restaurant, which has had the audacity to significantly raise prices while declining in quality. As for the food, two of the dishes were actually warm, but the chicken Tikka masala was ice cold and it seemed clear that it was not made fresh. After enjoying this place for years, I am done. There are far better take out options for Sri Lankan food.

Good is descent. Own person manning the whole restaurant (waitress and cook). It took 30 minutes to get our order taken. Then up to an hour for the last entry to come out, which made it awkward for our aunt who was starving, and watched us eat.Parking: Very tight. Took us 10 minutes to slowly pull out because another car was blocking us, while also parked in a legal spot, so the Blame rests with the owners.

I would give less if I could. The people were extremely rude claiming the place was closed despite having a sign outside stating otherwise. It would not even be a problem if it were not for the poor mannerism and attitude. I was flabbergasted and kindly left.

This might be the first spot in Staten Island I have actually reviewed, lol. But hey! When you heard that Staten Island is known for their Sri Lankan food and you've just finished the Staten Island Half, what else should you do aside from trying some out? :) Loves: + Good value for good food + Lots of menu choices + Really sweet staff + Accepts credit cards + Open before noon Honestly, it was a nice treat to be here and eat after running 13.1 miles. I can't speak much to Sri Lankan food at large but this place was good and well priced for what it was. The owners were also especially kind. Thank you, New Dosa Garden!

Restaurant was old and it smelled weird ?. Ok when we walked in greeted with a smile and was seated however it was just 2 of us in the Restaurant and I waited like 15 mins .. had to go call and ask for whatever I wanted. Food was good but not enough to make me go back. Maybe they should just do take out. I just feel like I wasted my time and money going here.Parking: 6 spots

This was my first Sri Lankan meal. I'm familiar with South Indian food and found the Sri Lankan cuisine lighter and more delicately flavored. The atmosphere here is pleasant. The service quite friendly and personable. The food exquisite at a remarkably good price. The restaurant is a twenty minute walk from the Manhattan ferry. It will become a go-to for me whenever I make a Staten Island excursion.

Visited twice during our Manhattan stay. The best dosas we have had outside India, some excellent appetisers and delicious vegetarian options. Friendly and attentive service and a trip home on the ferry to round off an excellent evening.
