The Iron Works in Troy is a hidden gem of a BBQ restaurant with wonderful owners. The true BBQ here has a crispy bark, and standout dishes include the crunchy coleslaw, great pulled pork, and on-the-money pulled chicken. The brisket is a must-try - it's tender, juicy, and has a nice smoke ring and tasty outer crust. The BBQ sauce doesn't overpower the meat's flavor, and the portions are generous. The pulled pork sandwich and sweet chili smoked wings are also delicious. Although it's primarily a takeout location, there are outside tables by a small pond, creating a nice ambience. The restaurant's hours could be improved, as it's only open a few days a week.
