The French Workshop Reviews
Its Customer Service
I’m really disappointed with how the manager at the Bayside location treated me and my family. I simply asked to add Nutella to my Greek yogurt with granola and berries — something I’ve been allowed to do before and even offered to pay for. Instead of handling it politely, the manager focused on quoting store policies and made the whole interaction about authority and control rather than customer service. Her tone was dismissive and unprofessional,...read full review
The bayside location is run by a very toxic manager named Kat. She is going to get this company sued for her behavior. She threatened me numerous times through the eight months I worked there. She uses fear mongering to “manage” employees. She has talked down to almost all my coworkers. There has been many times we did not receive breaks and work past our time with no gratitude shown. The French Workshop offers delicious pastries and the best coffee ever, with a lovely atmosphere, especially at the outdoor tables. The croissant filled with pistachio cream and the apricot and almond bar come highly recommended, though the monte cristo sandwich was less impressive. The restaurant provides vegetarian options and is welcoming to families. While parking can be difficult due to surrounding businesses, there is a lot available. Both indoor and outdoor seating are offered, though there have been occasional cleanliness issues with indoor seating. The space is bright and sunlit, making it a great spot to relax, whether working on a laptop or lounging. The bakery features a wide selection of cakes, including several chocolate options like Mike chocolate and dark chocolate, which are highly praised. Desserts and drinks, such as the caramel macchiato, consistently satisfy. Visitors can watch the bakery-making process through windows and enjoy a clean environment with friendly staff, despite some comments about staff's mood. Pastries like macarons are pricier, but many find them worth the cost. Overall, The French Workshop is a popular spot for quality coffee, tasty pastries, and a welcoming atmosphere.
