“Pretty good food. Looks like a family owned business. I loved the vibe of the restaurant, walking in to what seems like a bodega in Mexico. The lady (might be the mom) was very attentive to all of the customers, she came by our table almost every 5 minutes asking us if we needed anything at all. The free salsa was pretty good. I would def come back when I’m in the area. We ordered a lot of tacos. The carnitas was OK but the spicy pork, al pastor and the sausage tacos was really good. Good food for a very decent price!!!“

“Very popular spot among visitors, long lines during lunch hours. But the staff were putting their best effort to get the orders out of the way. All ingredients were available when I was ordering. They were all fresh. Loved the big slices of onions and peppers. Rice was fluffy. They put a good quantity in the bowl. Checkout was quick and easy, got to scan my membership in the process too.“

“I’m sorry I have no photos of the three best tacos I’ve probably ever had (camarones, pollo, and carne asada), the beautifully simple and fresh side salad (complete with onion, radish, tomato, and avocado), or my husband’s carne asada enchiladas verde—we were both too busy inhaling them. Do your tastebuds a favor and stop here. If we lived closer, we’d be weekly regulars. We used to live in NYC and hubby called it the best Mexican food in New York state. Gracias, Viva Mexican!“

“Best tacos in Newburgh, very flavorful and authentic. Run my a nice friendly family. Atmosphere is very small dining area and is very cramped. Parking is sparse and have to park on side of busy highway. Will return and definitely recommend to others.“

“I enjoy their fresh orange juices & tamales are so savory and delicious.
Been here 3/4 times for breakfast and usually order the same. Chorizo with egg and Chilaquiles verdes. Café de olla & fresh orange juice.
The chorizo with eggs comes with rice and beans. This combo pairs perfectly well with their home made tortillas. Just like back home.
You get a good portion of chilaquiles with cecina, sour cream and fresh cheese. The first couple of time they were really good. This last weekend the sauce was very bitter, yes tomatillo can do that (if overcook or not cooked property)& there was no salt, bitterness was overpowering. They just added the tortillas, sauce on top & didn’t allow for this 2 items to marinate properly. They have great food but lack of execution will give poor results.
The tamales are always good. No disappointment there. Fresh and fluffy and spicy enough to be devour.
Orange juice is squeeze as you order which makes the flavor more intense.
Stop by!!
Parking: Plenty ?️ parking located on side of building.“

“Weeknight first time at this restaurant- perfect little spot for tasty Mexican and a first date.
THE GOOD: I had 3 tacos al pastor and shared 3 empanadas. Definitely seasoned well and spicy. The tacos were smaller than normal-I definitely craved more. Guacamole was yummy. Chips and salsa are simply table holdovers & could be tough to get that salsa right- but theirs was nice. All the food was delicious and hot. Cute spot/decor. It was packed for it to not be a weekend day. We knew the food would be good and would not disappoint. The staff was great.
THE SHAMEFUL: It's a damn shame they are not closer to me. I'd be a regular!
Great job guys- keep it up!“

“Our first time visiting Monarca and it was excellent. I chose the cammarones (shrimp with mushrooms and tequila) with the charro. (The charro!!! ?) So good! We ordered the queso which was spicy and very tasty. Margaritas were so good. We all left stuffed and satisfied. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. I loved the decor, the seating and ambiance. I'm surprized to see some of the comments here. People do have to realize a new business doesn't just open and run like clockwork. It takes time for staff to gel and get a system down. Its unrealistic to not expect that a brand new establishment needs time to work out kinks. That's why Im glad we waited to visit until now because we were very pleased and will be back!! Thank you Monarca.“

“We had to go to my in-laws to help them and needed dinner so my wife found this place and I looked at their menu and saw the family size for us and thought perfect. Not only was the food good but I saved ten percent by ordering online which I liked. We live in Florida NY, but I’d be willing to go here again and try some other dishes.“

“Best chilequiles I have ever had. Great service, very clean, quick, friendly, and best of all the food was authentic. The chips and salsa were also fantastic. Highly recommend. The owners even came out and talked with us. One of the best Mexican places around in an area with many to choose from. If you're in the area, stop by!!!“

“On the way home from a mini road trip between NY and CT we stopped in Beacon and found La Barbirria on our quest for good authentic Mexican food. La Barbirria did not disappoint. We started with the Aguachile! A very spicy ceviche style dish, the kind server gave us a heads up about the heat and it was delicious! The chilaquiles came in a molcajete overflowing with a variety of meats and sausage. My steak and eggs with beans and maduros was chefs kiss. I am looking forward to my next trip to Beacon to stop by La Barbirria again!“

“Amazing fresh food from scratch! My favorite is the Pollo / Chicken Milanesa Cemita with mozzarella, jalapeno and their special pink sauce. Mexican style Shrimp Quesadilla is refreshing. Portions are generous! They changed the name to Plaza Azteca, but it's the same ownership... check them out, give them some love!“

“In my party, two of us had tacos, one beef and one shrimp. Both of us found those delicious. Another member of our party had chicken burrito, which was also enjoyed. In particular, we loved the homemade hot sausage. Well I preferred the green, my husband loved the spicy. Absolutely! We recommend this restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: When we entered the restaurant, a man was there with his young toddler. The owner was welcoming to him as well as to my son.“

“I have a tradition of ordering tacos for my family every year for my birthday. Of course we missed last year due to Covid-19 shutdown. New owners now, but the tacos were even better than ever. My family couldn't get enough. Now I can get my son interested in eating there. (I grew up in Southern California and had one Mexican great grandmother so I take my Mexican food seriously. I also spent two summers in Mexico with my best friend's family.) So go and eat there....they are truly bilingual.)“

“The roasted chicken in this place is delicious ?.
El pollo a la brasa en este lugar es delicioso ?
I paid $16.00 for the chicken. A little expensive but good.
The area it’a not the greatest but it is worth it to go if you want good chicken. Ask for the salsa verde to go with the chicken.“

“This burrito is gigantic, as the name would suggest. I got the Cold Steel at their suggestion and I am shocked how good the brisket with coleslaw combination hit. I asked for it to be extra spicy and the added chilies complimented the creamy habanero sauce.“
“Authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. Absolutely loved our dinner! Featured on my grid of greatness; from top left Breaded Chicken Cemitas, Torta Cubana, Gorditas, Chicken Salad, Parilla Azteca, Molcajete, Guacamole, Shrimp Soup and Veracruzana Shrimp. Two thumbs up!“

“Needed something quick and have been wanting to try Bubbakoo's. I got the Buffalo chicken quesadillo with extra cheese. She did great on the extra cheese... so cheesy! They also gave me some Nashville Hot and Ghost Pepper sauce to dip with and both were really good. Ghost pepper is definitely hot!. Even though it was 19 mins before closing, everyone was kind and curious. Forgot the Pic of my quesadillo, but it was really delicious and not horribly expensive. Next time I should try a burito.“

“I eat here with friends often and live fairly close. However the four times I have ordered at night to have food delivered, there is ALWAYS something missing. Tonight I got NO flour tortillas for my fajitas! Usually they would bring the missing item out to me but tonight all I got was "the mailbox on this number has not been set up yet". I can't drive at night so I had home delivery but I think I'm finally done with them.“
“This food truck has the best authentic Mexican food in the area without a doubt. I've been to other businesses in the area and their food is top tier compared to other authentic places in the area. I've only started going there last month and I'm not turning back :)“

“This place completely upended my understanding of good Mexican food. So good that I went 3 days in a row. The food was amazing (2 taco pizzas and burritos), beers were frosty cold, the atmosphere was like a classic cantina, and the bar tenders were absolutely beautiful. I can't recommend this place enough but be advised, after eating here you'll have a hard time finding another Mexican place that'll come close.“
