“Please try the cold sesame (peanut) noodles. It was my second time visiting New York, and my first time in the suburbs. I biked 2 hours from a small town called Mahopac and arrived with quite the appetite for these noodles, as my girlfriend and fellow rider had stoked the fires of curiosity for many months beforehand. During the first bite I knew immediately that this was a national treasure of a food. It was creamy, spicy, savory, the noodles were thick, it had a unique peanut flavor and sweetness. All of these things worked together to create a dish that we have not been able to replicate, though we have tried. And can any establishment here in Los Angeles claim to have achieved this feat? Not that I have found... Please try the cold sesame (peanut) noodles. (Also the mapo tofu and scallion pancakes are good. But... read above ^)“
“This is our 2nd time at this restaurant. This time around, a late brunch. Downtown Katonah is quite popular on beautiful Sunday mornings and we were going to a concert at the Caramoor later in the afternoon. So if you don't have a reservation at the brunch places, you are out of luck. I really wanted eggs this day but lunch was the only option late in the game. I did remember that this restaurant had a full bar so, why not. It was a cold day so a hot Sake sounded like a good idea. This place is usually standing room only at night but just after 12:30pm it was almost empty. I didn't realize I was "hangry" so I ordered an entree because I knew it would come with soup. My husband was in his element with sushi rolls and a side of pan-fried gyoza. We also requested some adult beverages. I ordered a cocktail...pomegranate Prosecco. It was a beautiful ruby color when it arrived, forgetting about the sake.... When our entrees arrived (pretty quickly, I may add), my eyes grew big as the giant tempura plate came. Everything was sizzling hot! 5 pieces of giant shrimp with some surprises; asparagus & butternut squash, in addition to the yummy usuals. I was so glad that my husband was there to help me finish. Fried food isn't appetizing as a to-go item. I was full and then some. Service was moderately quick, but as the restaurant began filling up, I was glad that we were among the "early" customers. I noticed that service was slowing down a bit. However, it was Sunday afternoon. I imagine the rest of the crew will be in for the dinner crowd. Oh did I mention that their take-out service is also quite busy? It's an indication that they're quite popular in the neighborhood.“
“We were very pleased with the quality of the food. I had a 'blend' which were Eel Sushi Appetizer. Following with Spicy Eggplant Tofu and Sautéed sting beans with beef. Probably the most authentic Chinese entrees that we've had up around this area. It was nice to enjoy the meal in a quiet atmosphere with very attentive service. We plan on revisiting in the future“
“I enjoyed all the food we ordered! Three different dishes ... sushi which was served toward the end of the dinner .. I think they forgot to make it!! We had chicken chow fun ... shrimp with a cream sauce along side of fried white meat chicken ... another dish with chicken, beef and shrimp in a brown sauce and white rice. The restaurant is very clean and the staff very friendly!! An enjoyable dinner ... we will return!! They had many take out orders also.“
“Great spot for lunch or dinner. The server took us in quickly and took our drink order immediately. They served us with condiments for the table which eased our hunger. Then the food order came fast and the food was delicious. Great Chinese food and I highly recommend it. Will be going “
“I am not sure what was the bad reviews about but it might be misleading. This is the best Chinese food I had in a few! I felt it as soon as I opened up my take-out bag. I felt it from the packagibg, how it was packed and the food taste quite nice as well. Coming again. I hope they give the business more personal name than it is now though, should atteact more people. :)“
“Fast easy cheap meal, can’t go wrong with Chinese takeout. Parking is a little tough without a lot. But location is good. There was not a problem ordering the food. The brown sauce was a little light on the flavor. The pepper steak was good, guess when they add the oyster sauce into the brown sauce made it better. The Singapore noodle was very tasty. But the pork fried rice was off. Overall a nice quick meal, $66 for 4 ppl, not bad.“
“Pretty darn good. We have been finding it hard to find really crave-able chinese takeout in the Burbs. We have gone so far as making our own wonton soup with homemade wontons. No more! We ordered wonton soup, crab rangoon, and cashew chicken combo. The wonton soup was D-LICIOUS!! Their wontons have nice, thick wrappers and are filled nicely. I believe they hand make the wrappers, which is a great added bonus to the quality. I'm not a big crab rangoon lover, but my husband is. He raved about them. The dipping sauce was definitely on par. The cashew chicken was good. It lacked the crave-ability I really was looking for, but it was good. Egg roll was great. Pork fried rice was a little lackluster. I highly recommend adding it to your eating spots! I'm excited to try some of the other entrees.“
“This was a take out order so I really can't comment on the inside atmosphere as I wasn't paying attention. Anyway this was my first time getting food here and I really enjoyed it. The service was quick, prices relatively fair and the food was hot and tasty.“
“It’s only takeout! But it’s worthy the drive. One of the best Chinese in the area. We tried so far- House special lo mein (small)- Shrimp chop suey (small)- Steamed Dumplings- Beef fried rice (small)- Spring rollDelicious and more than enough for two.“
“Favorite food here is shrimp fried rice. It is freshly made. Plenty of shrimp and vegetables. Shrimp and broccoli, general tso chicken, ribs excellent. Egg rolls a little greasy. Staff professional and hardworking. Prices are not bad. Large shrimp fried rice $8.00. This is a regular spot for me. Place looks plain but clean.“
“Ming Hing is the absolute best Chinese food in Mahopac! I have been going here for over 20 years and I have tried just about every Chinese restaurant from Carmel to Somers to Yorktown. Ming Hing is consistently delicious! I can always count on them for great Chinese food and great service, even when they are extremely busy. If you haven’t tried Ming Hing yet, give them a try!Parking: Just park across the street in the lot because it’s hard to get street parking.“
“My wife and I are long time residents of Somers and last we ordered out from Q’s was about a decade ago. Not so good back then…excellent today. What a difference! Our food including soup was exemplary - tasty, not salty and most importantly, fresh! Many thanks and we surely have a new go to for Chinese food.Parking: Plenty of parking.“
“Typical basic Chinese food. Generally good quality. Fried rice needs more vegies and more flavor. Fried wontons are a must get. Spicy dishes could be a LOT spicier..barely spicy. This is not atypical for the area. Staff friendly. I have just ordered chicken and beef dishes so cant comment on how seafood is Much better than other local places. This is my go to Chinese restaurant. Try their house mustard condiment for a little kick.“
“Since reopening after COVID closure, the food here is across the board delicious. Highly recommended. It has gone from good to excellent. Every dish we've tried has been delicious and flavorful with quality ingredients. Give it another try!“
“5 Spice is our favorite restaurant in town. We crave the food! The restaurant itself is very clean, and you can always get a table. If you don’t feel like going out to eat, order in and have it delivered! They have many options for tea drinks, and they’re so tasty. For entrees, anything you get will be awesome, but I particularly enjoyed the pine nut fish.“
“Nice local spot offering traditional Chinese menu. We ordered Pork Fried Dumplings, and these were flavorful and crisp, as were the Egg Rolls. Our entrees were the Hunan Special, a spicy dish of jumbo shrimp, crab meat, chicken, pork, black mushrooms, and vegetables, and the Happy Family with similar ingredients minus the spicy kick. Both were prepared well and fresh. We opted to dine in, and the tables were clean and well lit.“
“Nice well balanced Chinese restaurantI tried the pu pu platter, chicken in garlic sauce, shrimp fried rice, chicken wings,Lo MeinI was fondly impressed with the quality and good tasting foodThe prices were cheap and I’ll definitely return if I’m ever back in the area“
“I frequent this unique place once a month since I like the good air that is characterizes this place. The crew is exceptionally cordial and experienced. The service is exceptionally fast. Most important, the food you eat is great. I visited more than once and I was always satisfied. The cost is honest. I highly recommend this place to all my friends.“
“David Chens has become a mainstay in the area. It's been around for over 30 years and it's some of the best Chinese in the area. Food is great. Service is quick if not a bit curmudgeonly and it has a great ambience. They should clean the fish tanks though!Try the pork and shrimp dumplings!“
“Been reading some of the not so good reviews so I decided to do a good one. While no Chinese restaurant is perfect this one has a few things that are excellent in my opinion. They have to me, the best boneless spareribs and I'm fussy about them. Theirs are exceptional. The roast pork lo mein is another favorite and the beef with string beans yum! And I can't forget the chicken and broccoli my grandson loves. I find the people there friendly also. I always try to smile. The beef with string beans is a little spicey but I like it that way!! Enjoy.“
“this is a fine takeout Chinese place here in Croton. I've had better Chinese food, but I've had a lot worse too. The orders are right the food is good and consistently quality food. They don't tip you on the count with the meat or the shrimp. And the food is generally ready on time. It's a good all-around American Chinese takeout.“
“This is a wonderful family run Chinese restaurant in an overwhelmingly Italian sea of choices. When you want some great Schezuan or Hunan dishes (which have a little more heat in them) this is the place to go. Healthy portions which can stretch over three meals, try their spring rolls, and the hot and sour soup. And don't forget the extra chili oil!“
“It’s always been a struggle to find great chinese food in this area, especially after being spoiled in Manhattan. Super friendly! Very fast! And some of the best Mongolian beef I’ve had in a long time. Whatever hot oil sauce they have on their steamed wontons is addicting. Our new go to spot!“
“The food is dynamic I ordered chicken wings. That was fried nice and crispy I also tried the chicken with broccoli with the sauce on the side. Executed very well. The service was also kind and the food took ten minutes like they said when I ordered. You can sit down in the place but it is small . I took my food to go. All and all I would gladly recommend if you desire Chinese food. One of the best Chinese food I've tasted in mount kisco“
“I've been a very satisfied customer for years and was really happy to see them expand beyond take-out into a small buffet. I tried the new buffet and was very happy to see the quality of the food is still excellent! Buffet pricing is very reasonable and I'll definitely be back for more! I just wish these good folks had a TripAdvisor listing so I could give them an excellent rating there as well.:-)“
“If u don’t eat some grub here we might have a problem the food is spankin along with the portion sizes and prices honestly one of the Best Buy’s I have had this food my have been touched by the holy man Jesus’s himself 100% recommended #MallChineseFood #BourbonIsFire“
