Although the building previously housed an IHOP and hasn't been redecorated with traditional Mexican colors, the atmosphere is still enjoyable. The chips and salsa are fresh, and the knowledgeable staff carefully explain menu items, making it easy to try new dishes. The food is delicious, with generous portions and hot, attractive presentation. Standout dishes include the shrimp tacos and steak/chicken enchilada combo. Mezquite's signature drinks are also a highlight, making this one of the best and most authentic Mexican restaurants guests have experienced in a long time.
