“Beautiful autumn Saturday afternoon—perfect for caramel apple slushies and wood fired pizza at Merry Family Winery in Bidwell, Ohio.

The slushies are made with both their Sweet Granny Smith and Liberty Apple Wines.

Eddie got a Mountain Dew (his signature drink) since he’s driving but I got a slushie and a flight of the Mothman Legend, Homestead Red, and Zinfully Merry. All three were Gwen-worthy, which is saying a lot since my palate is still acclimated to Amador County Zinfandels. I have a hard time finding wines I like out here.

I went home a Mothman Legend (the last bottle with the old label) for me and a Zinfully Merry for Eddie. Hes not much of a drinker, but if he ever wants to join me with a glass on the back porch, he likes white Zinfandel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my slushie and wine flight, and we both liked the Hawaiian pizza.

Merry Family Winery is located at 2376 OH-850 in Bidwell, Ohio, down the road from Gallipolis.

“This restaurant has good food…HOWEVER!!!! The food comes out lukewarm at best. The plates are SCORCHING HOT, very unsafe. Service used to be very on par but has become slower. Staff is very very friendly though. Beware: they charge a 3% credit card fee. I would recommend this restaurant but would say…I wish they would go back to the way they served the first month they were open.”

“This is the best place for food and milkshakes. The chocolate malt milkshake is the greatest shake you can get. All the food is great and never have gotten anything bad. Keep up the great work of making great tasting food. Enjoy!!”

“Just passing through the area. We stopped in for lunch today and, I must say, the lunch special is a pretty good deal! My wife and I each took advantage of the deal and now we have tons for leftovers.

The waitress/cashier was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Heck, maybe she owns the place.

We spent a long time choosing what to eat because they have a good selection of menu items. Fresh products. Friendly staff. “Always an amazing experience at Zanzi's! Been getting food from there for several years and it's always a good experiance. Price is far cheaper than any other pizza place around. The food is always fresh, hot, and exactly what you order. The one time that they did mess up on a sub I ordered, they gave me the messed up one and then a free one that was made correctly. Only one mess up in years is not bad at all! The staff is always so kind, friendly, and helpful even during rush hour when they're swamped with orders. If you're in Gallipolis, I would highly recommend trying Zanzi's! The pizza, subs, and cinnamon sticks are all amazing!”

“I’m very love Fuji’s Coconut Shrimp! It was big and crisp, the portion is very sufficient and highly recommended. Lunch any 3 roll is very good value for money! I especially like to eat coconut, so their Christmas rolls are also very good taste and the sauce is so amazing!If you love crunchy rolls, you should definitely try them Dynamite roll,spicy tempura roll and Fuji roll!Their services are very patient and friendly too❤️”

“If you are in between Athens/Rio Grande definitely go here, their drinks and food are excellent. If you are want to just go there for just dinner and drinks they have a building for that. If you just want to go there to rave, guess what they have a building for that also, plus an awesome outdoor deck where you can play pool!! Literally the only bar/restuarant in rio grande except for bob Evans”

“I went through the drive-thru wanting a frozen Coke. I asked for the largest frozen Coke possible but, it ended up being a medium one which was $1.79. I don't know how that was confusing to the cash register person. I also ordered a fish sandwich and that was very nice and hot and they got more tartar sauce for me. Thanks”

“They were slammed packed, and they still managed to take more orders and keep things flowing. Anyone who sees them in action knows that's a well-oiled machine they have running back there. Thanks for feeding us after the lights! It was freezing outside and some of the other places around the area had an hour or more wait for our party! We ordered food, walked around for about an hour and came back to pick it up. I ate my grinder so fast I didn't get a picture but I promise it was delicious! Maybe next time we'll the time to dine in.”
