AND they make everything fresh fresh; there's a short wait between ordering and receiving order but it's more than worth it imo. plantains, dibi lamb, and fish are my go-tos!

i bought lunch here for my best friend too, and she LOOOOOVED everything especially the fish and plantains

now about atmosphere and structure. there's a chill, laid-back vibe within the restaurant. the order counter is clean and typically operated by gentle speaking and friendly persons. there's nice low lighting [easier on the eyes and it sets a nice vibe to decompress]

there's both indoor and outdoor seating too, though the outdoor patio seating seems to accommodate more than just darou salem guests. so that may lead to less seating available during specific hours and/or on specific days. idk, there's been seating available for my party everytime we went, but still something to keep in mind if dining in

overall though, i love it here! it's a whole vibe, the food is excellent, and the service, friendly🙏🏾“

“First time trying Senegalese food and I had an awesome experience from start to finish. The girl working at the front desk was extremely polite and gave me a great recommendation of the foods I should order.

All of the food was delicious a lot of the food I got was oniony but the spices accompanied with it made each dish unique!

The plantains were also awesome as a side item which I wasn't sure if I'd even like because I hate the flavor of banana but they tasted more like a pastry more than anything else.

I think it was great and you get so much for what you pay for. Will definitely be back!!!“

“Go there to purchase bakhoor, especially the Thiouraye. Several varieties....red, black and green. Red and black are amazing. Quality is superb, proper fermentation, some of the very best I've had to date. Price is excellent too. Scent is divine and quite unique. Enjoy my visits there, a cultural experience. Everyone is friendly, quite surprised to see a Westerner looking for Thiouraye :)“
