Somm Wine Bar Reviews
Nice wine list, delicious food and gracious service on a comfortable covered patio were all the ingredients we needed, plus great company, to make my Mother’s Day eve special.
Went there tonight (we have been to Somm on many occasions and always had a wonderful meal and service) but not tonight. First, there was a sign taped to the door that said we are not accepting walk ins, only reservations. It was 6:30 and the restaurant was 1/3 full. We like to pop in and sit at the bar. Somm Wine Bar offers a wonderful dining experience with perfectly cooked dishes and well-blended flavors. The swordfish special and sweet potato gnocchi are highly recommended, followed by a superb carrot cake for dessert. The Spanish sardines and Maytag salad are great starters, while the shrimp scampi and crab cakes are outstanding main dishes. The back patio provides a cozy and quiet atmosphere, perfect for enjoying the wide selection of wines or great beer options. The sea bass special, pork chop, and ahi tuna carpaccio are must-try items. The blood orange creme brûlée is a well-executed dessert to end a perfect meal at Somm Wine Bar.
Recent visitors praised the excellent food, with one mentioning the Alaskan halibut flown in from Seward, AK, which had a very distinctive flavor. The restaurant inside is beautiful, and the staff, especially Holly, provides top-notch service. Despite a busy night with a wine tasting event, the food remained good and reasonably priced, along with a very good wine list. The chef's halibut special, cooked perfectly with a light sauce on a bed of angel hair pasta, was described as one of the top dishes experienced in a long time. Somm Wine Bar is highly recommended and definitely deserves a spot on any short list for those who haven't visited yet.
