“I’ve been searching for the perfect Jamaican beef Patty for a loooooooong time! I’m from Jamaica Queens and the beef patties there cannot be replicated…or so I thought until today! Not as flaky but FRESSSSHHHH! All I need is coco bread and this place will have a loyal customer FOR LIFEE! “So... THIS is where I'll be getting my oxtails when I'm too lazy to make them! They were excellent. I got the oxtail dinner, a beef patty, and a side of plantains. The portions were impressive, and everything was seasoned perfectly. The beef patty was basically the same beef patty you'd get everywhere else, but that's okay because they're always good. But, back to the oxtails... soooooo tender and meaty with the perfect amount of gravy! I was happy enough to have a great, well-made meal, but the spinners knocked me off my feet! I've had Jamaican oxtails from here to California, but no one's ever added spinners to my meal! If you don't know, they're yummy, dense, cylindrical dumplings. They made me SO happy! She's putting out quality food with such love and care. These are the types of chefs and restaurants that we need to support.“
“The food was very tasty, but I didn’t love how they chopped up the chicken so the bone shattered, I kept getting little bits of bone in my mouth. Also you have to order fried plantains on the side. Their fried plantains were also not the best I’ve ever had, they were pretty dry and just tasted like oil.“

“I was in town over the weekend to watch a couple of Guardians games, checked into my hotel, raised the blinds to my room, saw the storefront sign for Unruly Jamaican Cuisine across the street, and my interest was piqued. This unassuming spot is positioned mostly for takeout, with few seats for those who choose to dine in, and offers a limited menu. Offers are made at the counter through a takeout window.I often gauge Caribbean or Jamaican restaurants by how well they prepare their oxtail stews. Unruly's stew had a little more heat than I anticipated ( guessing their recipe actually uses scotchbonnets vs. jalapenos), and it was delicious. The server even added in extra jus into my order ... As if she knew my heart. The portion was generous and reasonably priced. There also were bottles of fun, Jamaican sodas available for purchase. Overall, a good restaurant to satiate cravings. If this place were in Chicago, I'd frequent it often.“

The Oxtail dinner was super flavorful (with just the right spices) and meaty, the Curry Chicken was "all that," the Shrimp Curry was wonderfully delicious, and the Stew Chicken was amazing.
