I have been curious about this place ever since they took over a former Arby’s location around the corner from my apartment.
I opted for the Chicken over rice, and was not disappointed! Decent portion for the price (all plates are $8!), chicken was tender and flavorful, and rice cooked to perfection. Based on the reviews, Caribbean Plate’s serves the best Jamaican food outside of Jamaica. The food is always awesome, authentic, and feels like home cooking. Specific meals include jerk chicken, perch mac and cheese, cornbread, greens, and meats over rice. The food is always really fresh and delicious. The people are so friendly, and the customer service is excellent. The atmosphere is nice with upbeat music and live entertainment every Saturday. The place is clean and remodeling to make the entertainment area bigger. It is consistently great.
