I haven't been to a Steak 'n Shake for a long time, so I was surprised to see that it is now essentially self-service. You place and pay for your order at a touchscreen kiosk, get your own drinks and condiments, then find a table and wait for your number to be called. There is minimal interaction with the restaurant staff. The good news is that service is very fast, and the food is as good as it always was. The experience just isn't as personable as it used...

The workers didn't even greet us and didn't even acted like they seen us. Also all tables was nasty. I had to get napkins and wet them from the water at soda fountain to wash a table for us to sit at. I liked it 100% better when they had waitresses here at least you know you can be greeted and see a smiling face and have contact with a human and not a machine which is nuts ßoon there will be no human contact with no one at all. This place only had people at 2 tables...
