“Why we loved Gene's: Creative, delectable cuisine; an inventive array of wines and cocktails; friendly, expert sommelier and wait staff; cozy, northern California vibe; and well paced courses. Bottom line, we loved everything about Gene’s.

“Just had their newest addition to the high quality menu. The generous portion could easily be a shareable for two or a great lunch tomorrow. Extremely tasty with the right balance of crumbles and b’fflo sauce. Great w/seasoned fries or house chips. Make sure to have a pint of the Kroenburg 1664 pints to wash it down. “You gotta get there early if you're going to park at the 6th tee entrance; it fills up fast. If it is full, go south about a block and there's generally a guy sitting there with his daughter in a golf cart. He has about 10 spots in front of his house down the street, that he charges $20 for. Great guy and he'll run you back to the road in his cart if he can.“

The concierge’s at the front were wonderful, and our most pleasant experience was not only they food, but our wonderful waiter, Benjamin. They also usually have great selections of various films and anime playing on the tvs. This is usually the first stop on our nights our when my partner and I have a night out in Columbus and we usually end up returning again throughout the night.“

With wide-open seating, tree-covered areas, and cozy hanging lights, the vibe was equal parts romantic and relaxed. 💫 The beer selection? Exactly what you want in a neighborhood brewery—a perfect variety of drinkable, staple brews that suit all tastes. On a hot summer evening though, I would’ve loved to see a frosted glass option—the beer warmed up a little too fast for my liking. We ordered the giant pretzel, which definitely delivered on size! The beer cheese was decent, but we were hoping for a bit more creativity or a “mystery dip” option to spice it up. Also… just give us one good cup of cheese with it instead of making everyone upgrade for a second portion. Small thing, but it stood out. As the sun set, the whole place started to feel like something out of a movie. Couples celebrating engagements, friends laughing over cornhole in the corner, and a casual, easy energy. The only thing missing? Some live music, especially for a Saturday night. 🎶 We found ourselves lost in conversation… time honestly stood still. It felt both lively and private, which is a rare combo these days. If I had one other piece of feedback, it’d be for a slightly bigger food menu and maybe a kiddo cut-off time around 7 PM, just so the evening crowd can fully settle into adult mode. “We only discovered this restaurant about a month ago, but it has quickly become our favorite in Columbus. The first time we came, I told my partner their Caesar salad was the best I’d ever had, and we’ve basically been back every week since!

Today I finally ordered something I’d been wanting to try for a while. The restaurant was packed, and the dish tasted a little different from what I expected. I genuinely wasn’t sure if that was how it was supposed to taste or if something had been missed, so I nervously asked. I wasn’t trying to complain or even asking for a replacement, I just wanted to make sure.

They immediately took my concern seriously, and the way they chose to handle it honestly blew us away. The owner went completely above and beyond, bringing us three different dishes to try and even extra dessert, everything was absolutely delicious. We expected nothing more than an answer to our question, so the kindness and hospitality meant so much to us.

A busy restaurant can have an off moment, but how they handled it says everything. We already loved this place, and now we have even more reason to keep coming back. Amazing food and even better people.

Please give them a try if you’re in Columbus and get the Caesar salad! We’ll definitely be back.“

They had wine flights at a reasonable price so you can taste before deciding on a whole bottle. We ordered a variety of items from the menu, including the mushroom bruschetta, sliders, blank + blank (pick 2 lunch), short rib, and bread pudding- ALL delicious!! Even with these other factors, the thing that really topped off our experience was the service. Jessica was the nicest, most efficient server we’ve ever had!! “5/5 Stars Firebirds in Polaris is such a cozy local spot right close to home! I got the fish tacos, and both the fish and the salsa were remarkably fresh. The seasoned mushrooms were also a healthful addition to my meal. To top it off, the hand-squeezed lemonade was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly, professional, and attentive from start to finish. Highly recommend—we'll definitely be back!“

“The front desk staff are always on point with any special reservations you make. The bartenders are the best in town, no matter if you are drinking wine, bourbon or a mocktail. The food is expensive but very worth it, the seafood tower is not only beautiful but fresh. If you like beef the Porterhouse for two is so worth it. The service is always top notch, but we were so lucky to have Goete as our server this time and I would recommend requesting him. He took such extra care in everything.“
