“My wife and I ran across The Human BEAN while in Akron for a weekend get away! We actually met the owner of this location, he was a really nice guy! When we arrived he was unloading some supplies for the Coffee shop near the drive through. We chatted with him briefly, ordered our drinks and pulled around. When we went to pay, one of the barista informed us that the owner took care of the bill and it was on the house! The coffee was absolutely amazing! We will definitely be back! For all the coffee lovers out there, go check them out! You will love it!”

“I will be honest, I haven’t eaten there yet but just had the greatest experience that restored my faith in humanity just a little bit. I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!”

“I visited for the first time and I just have to say how good this place is! There were about 20 of us. We never had an issue getting a drink, or anything else we wanted. Cocktails were good and strong, the sushi was tasty, and the entrees were flavorful. There was no skimping on the portions either. I got 3 dinners out of mine. We will be back!”

“I’ve been ordering from this company for a few years now, and each order has been a hit! Black (both regular and decaf), green, white and different herbal blends…there is something for everyone! All the tea and herbs are good quality, prices are reasonable and shipping is FAST! Highly recommend!”

“I cannot recommend Porchlight enough! I have become a frequent flyer— no seriously— twice a dad visits. I love the convenience of their online ordering in the morning and their great cafe space for lunch. There is no wrong answer when it comes to their variety of flavors for your lattes. Truly a skillfully crafted coffee menu along with flavor-packed food options. My absolute favorite menu item is their harvest Cobb salad. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! Dried cranberries, grilled chicken, feta (I think), walnuts, topped with the to-die-for maple vinaigrette on a bed of lettuce. Seriously, there is NO reason NOT to go to Porchlight. Cheers!”

“My brother and I made plans to come stop by for their matcha lattes since we heard they had some of the best around. What we failed to do was actually LOOK at their operating hours and came past closing. 😅 Our faults, but they noticed us and let us in to make us drinks anyway. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely be back DURING opening hours next time... as we both loved our matcha lattes. I'm looking forward to trying out more of their menu in the future!”

“I went in the restaurant to try some of the cream pies and wow were they amazing!!! I think the baker was a young woman who was blonde with blue eyes, who I owe my upmost respect to. Can't wait to come back soon for more of the delicious handmade baked goods!!!”

“We had a wonderful dinner on October 7th with friends. This is the 4th visit to this restaurant, and each time has been very good. We have used the movie suites as well and enjoyed that experience. “my fiancé, kiddo, and I tried this place out for the first time tonight. We grabbed a pizza, hot dog, Mac and cheese, potatoes, and Pretzels....everything tasted so dang good. Although annoyed that hours later my fiancé is still saying "that's the best hot dog I've ever had in my life" 🤣 really enjoyed how well the Mac and potatoes were seasoned. The best part is nothing ate heavy...it actually sat well on our stomachs. My kiddo is a very picky eater but she smashed. We will for sure be back to try more items...very very pleased with the food and service!!”
