Fries

“I go to the LJS restaurant in Louisville because they do what I want. If I tell them to hold the French Fries then I don't get them. They listen. The one in Salem, don't. Salem always gives fries and if you pay for more hush puppies, better check before leaving, because you may have only 2. Not 2 more than 2.“

“I was greeted at the front desk and immediately seated. My server was Anna, very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. Anna has a very cheerful attitude and made my dinning experience very pleasurable, shout out to Anna. The filet I ordered was very tasty and the brussel sprouts and smashed potatoes were an excellent choice also. Anna's service with a smile and the good made my first time there very nice, will return. Tim Morris“

“We were visiting Canton to see the ProFootball Hall of Fame and needed a nice dinner place for the family. Something that was a step up from fast food but not too fancy. This one fit the bill! The restaurant is small and has the appearance of a "dive bar" but the wait staff was very welcoming and friendly and the food was tasty. They had a kids menu and coloring sheet for my daughters, and also offered them candy for dessert (after checking with me first). Portions were generous and we all enjoyed our food. My picky daughter said the chicken strips she had were "worth leaving the hotel for."Kid-friendliness: They had a small kids menu with standard options (chicken strips, spaghetti, hamburger, etc.). They also offered coloring sheets and crayons. Food was good and the kids liked it!Parking: Parking was tricky. They have a small lot but it only has a few spaces. We ended up parking a couple blocks over and walking. It was metered parking but we were there in the evening when it was free.“

Hunan Jon Chinese •
2668 Easton St NE, Canton

“Hunan Jon's opened at the beginning of July, 2019 and is tucked away in the Oakwood Square plaza that is shared with Drug Mart. It is a dine in and take out that also has delivery (as stated on their menu). Chinese eating for me is either hit or miss and I feel this will be the same for others. Pricing here is slightly higher than other local restaurants such as Lucky Star and Hang Yuen Kitchen. At the time of my visit the place looked good but naked without much decor, though I could care less as I'm here for the food, not to feel romanced by any ambiance. I had Oolong tea (1.50 for a pot of tea) and enjoyed my beverage. I started with a cup of hot and sour soup which came with my lunch special (beef with broccoli $8.25). The soup was fresh and delicious, but I deduct a point ONLY because on the menu the photo of hot and sour soup shows that it has those black mushrooms in it as an ingredient. I don't know what they are called but often times I find them in hot and sour soups at most asian restaurants though sometimes they are not included with the soup. In this instance it is marketed as having those black mushrooms but my soup came without as evidenced by the photo. The soup was great, I was just slightly let down it did not come as photographed---they should change the photo or add black mushrooms to remedy this. The beef with broccoli was delicious, and I mean delicious! Why? Because most asian take-outs the last thing I enjoy is anything with beef because of the quality, the beef is usually chewy and grisly and that texture kills the mood for me as a diner. BUT----IMO, I did want to try other dishes here FIRST however trying beef with broccoli is the ideal benchmark to grade an asian restaurant; it's basic, simple and on every menu. Similar to pizza sampling--always try a plain cheese to give you the best benchmark for grading pizza from different restaurants. The beef convinced me the price was worth it, the broccoli was cooked perfect where it was soft yet crunchy! The rice I could tell was well made and not dried out or sticky but fresh and light/airy. A clean tasting meal that did not leave me feeling gross or greasy/bloated afterwards. The description reads that the meal comes with a veggie egg roll, but by looking at my photo you'll see it has meat in it. May want to watch that! As for my 'meat' eggroll, it was very good and so was the sweet and sour sauce. I knock off ONE point here because they don't have any homemade hot mustard, all they had were those terrible plastic packets of hot mustard, you know the kind---they aren't hot and they don't even taste like mustard. Yea, those..... My bill came to about $10.58 (if I recall correctly) and that was with leaving an 18% tip. I liked this place, no major complaints just minor kinks that need worked out but if they really want to reel me in more often having their own hot mustard would do the trick. This place I can see not being a hit for some people because those are the people that look at price only and you can find cheaper around town but I feel that the beef is better quality here and the rice good, good as in freshly made not sitting around. My next dish I want to try from here would be the shrimp in lobster sauce, if you could see the menu the photo completely sells me on the product so I want to try the real thing! The black glossy photo of the menu is their fancier dine in menu to browse. The yellow menu I took photos to show you all is their to-go menu. I hope this helps you all decide if you want to try this place! :) ***What would really boost this restaurant is advertising in the golden clipper coupon book or that North Canton flyer, other local asian take-out eateries do this and they also have coupons! If Hunan Jon's is reading this I'd suggest advertising in the local flyers and have some coupons. Thank you for reading :)“

“Great food, we order out there all the time. Everything you could want from a Chinese restaurant. The food is always hot and fast. Very rarely eaten there. Most always have gotten the food to go. My favorite dishes. There are general t'soz, and the beef and broccoli.Kid-friendliness: Lots of items included on the menu specifically for kids.Parking: Right next to the Giant eagle. So plenty of parking. You may have to walk though.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is ground floor.“

Royal Docks Brewing Co. - FOEDER HOUSE + KITCHEN Brewery • $$
2668 Easton St NE, Canton

“It's officially Christmas Ale season and the Yuletide at Royal Docks is a local favorite. I love the fresh rosemary and sugar on the rim (optional). This beer is fragrant and delicious. I also like the dinner options here, which range from traditional pub foods like flatbreads, wings and burgers, to some healthier options like the shrimp bowl with brown rice, avocado and corn. It's an inviting setting with the fires going on the patio, and they have some good Happy Hour deals. One of their standard brews - the Royal Dark - is currently offered for $3 even after Happy Hour ends. Service was team based and very friendly and attentive.“
