“The best Sushi I have ever had!!! My kids and I absolutly love it there! The owner is so sweet and remembers what sushi my son gets! The best service and food!! Highly recommend! We go at least 2/3 times a month! Ran into the owners at Sam’s club and was soo pleased to see all they had was fresh fruit and veggie!!! no frozen! There veggies are so crisp being fresh!!“

“My family and I LOVE Maki. Their food is always fresh, and delicious. I haven't found my favorite dish YET. Too many to choose from. I love their Beef Pho, and Yakisoba. My husband enjoys ALL of their specialty sushi. Their waitresses are always kind, and attentive. My husband is always thirsty, and never has an empty cup. The main man...sushi preparer is amazing! Always delivers a beautiful dish! Out of all the restaurants we frequent in Lake County....Maki is always consistent with their food quality and service.“

“My wife and I felt like trying something new, so we opted for Sumoboy. The clear soup was flavorful. The chicken katsu i ordered was crispy and saucy. My wife enjoyed her bento box but thought there was a bit too much teryaki sauce, and some of the chicken chunks were a little tough. We were the only ones in the restaurant the entire time, so hopefully it was just an off time for them.“

“I was in town on business and found this gem just searching around online. Right off the bat the lady on the phone was super friendly. Very accommodating on a couple or requests as well. The food itself was top notch and extremely fresh and great flavors (two rainbow rolls, one with shrimp on top instead). Highly recommend 👍🏼“

“Good ramen and sushi spot in Willoughby! Definitely worth a try if you’re in the Cleveland area - especially on a cold day.

The venue is unassuming, located in a strip mall off the side of a road, but man oh man do they serve up a nice bowl of noodles. I ordered the spicy ramen (only option with chili paste) and it was down right delicious. You can tell the restaurant puts time and care into what they do. The broth was bursting with layers of flavor. The noodles had great texture and held up in the soup. The pork belly had a wonderful crispy smokey flavoring going on. It was a perfect trio of earthy, spicy, and rich! It was a colder day when I stopped in and this bowl warmed me up down to the core!

The guests I was dining with ordered a he sushi roll and LOVED it! They said it was probably the best sushi roll they’ve ever had in their lives. Which is pretty high praise given they’re had more sushi than they’d probably care to admit.

The staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful in the ordering process. The dining room isn’t big but they do have a handful of booths and bar seating along the sushi counter. The booth seating isn’t the most comfortable and the backs tend to lean if you try to press your back against it. Bathroom was clean and fully stocked with soap and paper towels. Always an indicator of a good operation when a restaurant has a clean bathroom area.

Overall, I’d definitely stop back in to try more food when I’m in the area next. I’d highly recommend stopping in and giving it a try if ramen and sushi are your thing! Just be warned this place fills up fast!“

“I was checking out and the cashier happened to be a young man named Sebastian. He asked if I found everything I wanted and I told him no and told him what I did want. He offered to get the manager. I said No, I didn't want to bother him, I would just phone him. Next time I went there I thought to ask about the product and found that Sebastian had already told them and they were looking into getting it. What a nice and thoughtful young man. It's a good place to shop as all the employees are pretty great. But KUDOS to Sebastian.“

“I was surprised that Ballantine did not have a better star rating. We are passing through. Most well rated Willoughby restaurants were very full. Ballantine is a large place, lots of wood, with some crannies, one being in the back with a mantle and gas lighted fireplace. In live music before it switches to current sports. Special dinner: Clams which were very fresh, clam chowder with fresh vegetables, and a huge hamburger with greens. All good. Staff people were super friendly and helpful. A beautiful lighted outdoors with floor to ceiling glass. Couldn't have been any better. Thank you, Ballantine.“
