“August 22nd stopped for lunch with a friend I hadn't seen since covid and was treated very rudely by the bartender who was not at all busy. This is the first time I have ever felt this way in here. Most of the bartenders are very friendly“

“A small group of us were visiting the area to see family and we came in here on a Friday evening for just drinks before having dinner elsewhere. The first person we saw greeted us with a smile, we think it was Mike. They were totally packed and it was only 5PM! But he and the bartender who took care of us let us take the last 2 seats at the bar while two of us stood nearby. They have lots of great cocktails and beer to choose from, as well as the typicals beverages. They have an amazingly appetizing menu too! Watching the food come out made us wish we were having dinner there as the food looked and smelled amazing!

Overall, the service was excellent and so were the prices. They treated us like family and were very engaging and friendly. Highly recommend stopping in here!!“

“Characters was one of those places that make you want to take a special trip to go back. I'm from Detroit and I will absolutely return when in the Cleveland area. The food was incredible.

I ordered the wings and a polish taco, being that it was Tuesday. While they were both good, the polish taco was one of the best things I've ever eaten. It had kielbasa, grilled onion, sour cream, sauerkraut, potato filling, on a pierogi bun. The kielbasa was phenomenal. It just seemed to have layers of flavor. The pierogi bun was very interesting too. I'd never tried one but it tasted great as well. It's unfortunate that they only have that polish taco on Tuesdays.

The wings, while not the greatest I've ever tried, had some very unique sauces to offer on the side. I had the suicide sauce and the raspberry BBQ sauce along with ranch and they were quite good. The wings were nice and crispy as well

The atmosphere is a typical bar setting; bar on the left and seating on the right, that's pretty spacious. There is also a patio outside to chill and hang out at.

The waitress was very friendly as well.

Overall, the food was great; particularly, the polish taco.“

“I stopped in over the summer with my sister for lunch and we were so glad we did, food was absolutely amazing! I told my boyfriend after we have to go there, it is so good! Took him yesterday for his birthday, we are both still talking about it today. He told me he told multiple people at work about it and has been thinking about your cannolis all day and I have been too, best I've ever had. Ever single thing from cocktails to dessert to atmosphere is absolutely amazing, I, we cannot brag about you guys enough! Classy cocktail menu, the char sour and classic old fashioned are a must try. You're selection of bourbon for bourbon lovers is top notch too! Last the food, beet salad, lobster rolls, cassoulet pie are to die for 🤌 have to talk about the cannolis again, one pistachio and one chocolate chip, don't snooze on those if you go! My biggest compliments to the chef. We will definitely be back.“

Relaxed place with good choices in music and plenty of pool tables! The owners are amazing and super friendly! “We love Spotted Dog food. Always had great service. Tonight the ball was dropped. Took 20 mins to be acknowledge to get a drink(maybe 8 at the bar). Never mind the big sigh and eye roll as we sat down AND still wasn't told Hi. 1 hour for food. okay Its a Friday night we understand. Our fries were soggy a cold. chicken tenders cold. wings cold. It def was sitting up there waiting a while to be brought out. We said something she said it was our fault for going outside for 5 mins. We know the difference between food sitting for awhile before being served. Extremely disappointed. We will be back but maybe when someone else is working.“

“Decided to go to Butch’s and try his new Philly cheese steak sandwich. It was bigger than I expected it to be. Great flavor probably one of the best in town. Meat and veggies were fresh and the sandwich was hot. Restaurant was clean as always and everyone was very polite and professional. If you haven’t been here make sure to put it on your list.“

“We were there Saturday April 5, 2025 for a luncheon after a memorial service. The presentation and food was fabulous!!!!! “If you want a wide selection of beers that are all over the map this is the place for you. I've been here twice and both times I've found some crazy brews that were off the beaten track. I like the vibe but my girlfriend thought it was divey and smelled like piss so maybe leave your woman at home! “

“I have never not had a great experience here! The best burger around, hands down and their fresh-cut fries are to die for! Today, I had my husband pick me up their classic burger with provolone cheese and it was still just as super warm when he brought it to me at work as if I were to have eaten it there! The staff is always super friendly and pleasant whether dining in or placing an order over the phone! HIGHLY recommend!!!“
