“I got the Perfect Balance bowl with lamb and chose the yellow lentil to top the rice. It was delicious, a perfect combination! The lamb meatballs have great seasoning that makes it so appetizing. The yellow lentil was perfectly seasoned too! The service was excellent! The cashier was helpful and nice. His name is Justin. It was my first time at Choolaah and he patiently explained how to order. He even let me sample some lentils so I can choose well what I want The restaurant was cozy, clean, and nice. I like the fresh flowers in vases on the table. They added a vibrant color to the dining area!“

“Top Indian restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of having, I’ve tried dozens of Indian restaurants in my life and this is up there to compare to. I had the butter chicken and Chana masala and it was so full of flavor. The butter chicken was so creamy and addictive I can drink the sauce and the chicken was so tender. Most places can’t cook their chicken breast correctly when they add it to their sauce but wow this was just easy to cut through with a spoon and just paired perfectly with the savoriness of the butter chicken. The Chana masala was flavor packed and I just can’t get enough, I legit ate myself into a coma. 10/10 must try like right now, go!“

“I order from here fairly often. Their food is always good and takeout is packaged well. It is ready quickly, and they are efficient all around. I have tried different things on the menu, and there is nothing I don’t like.Vegetarian options: Anything with only veggies or paneer should be fineDietary restrictions: They have many options and can be flexibleParking: It is not a busy plaza, so there is always parkingKid-friendliness: I see kids eating there all the time without issueWheelchair accessibility: I am not an expert on this, but it looks accessible to everyone“

“Mauir gave EXCELLENT service. Love the food there. There are so many options at this restaurant to choose from, with plenty of vegetarian options as well as meat entrees. The spice level of the dishes can be tailored to your palate. This is a restaurant that you MUST TRY!“

“My husband and I have been on the hunt for great Indian food since moving from New Jersey where we were truly spoiled with the restaurants and quality of food. Vintage India could give any Indian restaurant on Inman Avenue (if you know, you know!) a run for its money. The service and ambiance were absolutely amazing too! So glad we found this gem!“

“First time visiting, and the first time trying Nepalese cuisine (they also have Indian cuisine). Our Waiter was very friendly, made great suggestions and answered all of our "translation questions" perfectly. If you like spicy food, I highly recommend it!“

“My time here was right after they had just completed a remodel and the inside looks great! Everyone's food that came out was fresh looked delicious! The lentil soup was definitely the best I've ever had, and the curry's were awesome.“

“Food: We ordered the Tofu Makhani and Sagg Mushroom dishes along with the saffron rice and garlic naan. I asked the spice level to be medium for the makhani because that's typically a good spice level for me at other restaurants. However, there was no detectable heat at all and I can't say it tasted like a typical curry. While it tasted great, it was basically just a sweet tomato sauce. Very impressed with the Sagg mushroom though and the garlic nan was great. As a note, most entrees don't come with rice so you have to order it if you want it. Service: Attentive and polite service, did not have to wait long for food. It was not busy when we went so that might change but otherwise it was very good. Atmosphere: Calm and quiet atmosphere. Again, it wasn't busy when we were there but I imagine it's fairly similar.“

“I travel frequently and always search out Indian cuisine. I stumbled across this little place quite by accident, the small parking lot was full so I figured the local people knew something. That’s a serious understatement, this place stands toe to toe with any Indian Restaurant I’ve ever been in, and I frequent Indian Restaurants all over. My work takes me to different areas, so I think I have experience with different cuisines. This place is a real treasure, if I lived closer, I would be a regular. I encouraged the owner to open a branch in my small university town, but he’s got a jewel of a restaurant right here. Take my word for it, hands down one of the best dining experiences anywhere!“

“Came for Dinner there with high hopes of trying good food there .. was greatly disappointed with the food and service. We understand that everyone is short staffed so we were prepared to wait patiently for our food. First of all the restaurant was empty when we arrived. There were some carry out bags waiting to be picked up. We are vegetarian so we asked the server (who never introduced herself) what do you recommend.. she said she doesn’t know because she never had tried anything there … wrong answer!! Which was ok we were familiar with some of the items so we ordered Dahi bada to be served first and then masala dosa that looked so crispy on the menu and iddiappam which we were delighted to find on menu.. as my husband grew up in Sri Lanka and his mom made it quiet often and taught me how to make it. I asked what does it come with and the server said with some curry but she doesn’t know what. We asked if we can talk to the Chef and she said he is very busy and can not come out . Which is understandable. So we placed our order. Luckily I ordered the mango lassi which she brought right away and that was the only thing that was good . Then as we were waiting 20 min later a local young men came to dine in and of course they asked some quest and they were answered and they ordered elaborate food items : appetizers, biryani, naan , couple of curries and while we were still waiting for our Dahibada. Finally about half hour later our Dahibada came as I we stared eating that the young mens entire order with hot naan and everything came. And then to our surprise the chef came out and was talking to them.. I asked the server where was our food .. her reply was dosa takes longer… of course she didn’t know that I am a foodie and know that the dosa batter is premade and all it takes is to make the crepes on griddle. And I know that naan take longer to make than dosa . Besides even if it doesn’t, we should have been served first as we were there much before the other two customers. Needless to say the Dahibada were horrible they were just menduvada thrown in the yogurt they were not soft like Dahibada are supposed to be and with no garnish except few cilantro leaves . They are usually served with tamarind chutney. Then when I asked about our food, it came in few min .. oh my god the dosa was os soggy and I don’t know if they made a mistake of making it if different batter… it was nothing like the picture and nothing like I make it at home from store bought batter Priyam.. and she was so busy attending to those other local customers she forgot to bring our coconut relish that goes with dosa. Then few min later my iddiappam arrived .. the noodles were ok but the curry was so spicy I, who can eat petty spicy food couldn’t eat it.. I remembered her asking the other customers about the spice level which she never asked us. I just had the yogurt and the potatoes Masala with my mango lassis. And to top it all when we asked for check she couldn’t find our order on her little iPad so she put the order again right in front of us… so we paid but .. We just were so disgusted with our entire experience That we didn’t leave her any tip.. I was disappointed with the food but more so with the level of service that was provided to those two local young men vs to us who are their own country mates .. I just wanted to put this review so they will learn from it to treat everyone equally and not to discriminate and that too , your own countrymen, we are are from the same Mother India.. if you do that to your own fellow countrymen then don’t complain when you are discriminated here. And as far as the food and service goes … you guys have a long way to go.. the food was served in carry out containers and with plastic silverware which is ok.. Dosa was brought out in a small paper plate .. not a good presentation of food … and believe me nothing like the pictures..dot let them fool you .. but they did give each of us ceramic plates to eat in and a 12 oz water bottle in the beginning, which was good .. the ceilings of the restaurant are very dirt“
