“Finally stopped by to try the bbq here, and I was not disappointed at all! Mr. Jones was very friendly to me and the other guest while we were ordering our food and even offered us a couple of little samples. I ended up getting a half rack of ribs with a side of baked beans and Mac and cheese. I'm usually very picky about ribs and usually throw them out, but these tasted great and were a nice portion! The baked beans were also delicious with a brown sugar taste to them. Lastly, the Mac and cheese was also very good. Everything tasted like a great homemade bbq and not something you would get at a chain. Will definitely be back!“
“We were looking for some protein before our hike in the nature preserve. SO happy we happened upon Pig Candy BBQ ? We had the brisket sandwich and pulled pork waffle. Absolutely delicious, we ended up ordering another sandwich to go. The employees were also so sweet, what a joy to eat here!“
“I ordered the beef rendang on DoorDash, as I'm Indonesian and from Maryland but just moved to Cincy from Myrtle Beach (absolutely no diversity there). It was sweet, spicy, and tender; almost exactly like how my mom would make it. Thank you for a wonderful and refreshing meal to remind me of home, especially as Ramadan is approaching. Absolutely delicious!I do wish the portion size was bigger. Maybe it's because when my mom would cook it, I could keep coming back for more, but it did seem like a bit of a smaller portion for $14.“
“This is a great place for group dinner- came in with a group of 8 colleagues and we had a great meal. Decided to do the hot pot and BBQ (their rules won't let you mix for the table, so if you all don't want to do BBQ OR hot pot, you have to pay for both for everyone in the party). They have a buffet area with a few appetizers, desserts and a sauce station. Appetizers were ok, and by the end of the meal none of us had room for dessert- so I can't comment on that. Our server was great, explained the process, was very attentive during the meal bringing additional food as needed and advising on how much food was needed. They have plenty of protein options (we had a pescatarian in our group) and veggies. Only thing to note, after a while of the BBQs running, it did get a bit smoky around the table. To the point some of our eyes started watering. But at that point we just asked for the grills to be turned off since we were done using them.“

“Came with a group for lunch. Everything was good. The only complaint from the group was the Swamp Mud drink, apparently it tasted like a black licorice liquor was mixed in for the coloring effect. But the other drinks were on point. The pasta dish was excellent. We will definitely be back.“

“Very informal restaurant -order at the counter and take food to table. Food was simple, but excellent. Not a lot of food options, but what we did get was VERY good. Ribs and brisket were both excellent. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Many people getting take-out. In warmer weather we would have considered taking the food to a larger outside area.“
“Visited for early dinner or late lunch maybe.Tried ribs, and they have the option of two sides and you can decide how many ribs you have, options start at two and go up by 2 until 12 I think.Sides options include beans, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, coleslaw, cornbread.Tried mashed potatoes and mac & cheese which I preferred over the potatoes. “Husband and I was out to dinner at a near by place that had a 35-45 minute wait so we decided to go here to get an appetizer to pass the time. That appetizer turned into 2 meals. We first ordered a side of beans and a pulled pork sandwich, while at the counter we asked to sample the potato salad. We did eventually order a side of potato salad. The food was fresh well seasoned and absolutely delicious!! We went back and ordered a sandwich that had 4 different meats and another side order of beans ( those 2 items totaled $25). The sandwich was enough to share. The prices were a bit high but the quality didn’t disappoint. I would have loved a bigger portion but who wouldn’t have when it’s so enjoyable!!! Definitely will be back definitely will recommend to others definitely didn’t miss the other place we were suppose to go too!! Restaurant was clean and the one bbq sauce they do have is so magnificent they don’t need another option in my opinion! Looking forward to trying all the sides!!! “I have been staying at The Phelps for business. I frequently get in late, and quite frankly do not feel like going out. The Phelps Bar is the perfect solution. I have been staying at The Phelps Hotel on and off for roughly a month so far. I have had most of their menu items and have yet to have one that has not been excellent. They recently changed their food and drink menu, so there are many new items to try. They have an outstanding "Signature Drink" Menu. My favorite is the Fig & Rosemary Old Fashioned that is hands down the very best Old Fashioned I have had anywhere, and that includes The Greenbrier Resort. The staff are all amazing and help to make the experience even better. My hat is off to Mark (I think he is the manager), Kat and Tynisa who run the bar, and David the cook. If you find yourself in the Downtown Cincinnati area close to the stadiums, then you really should try The Phelps Bar. You will not be disappointed.“

A historical building that has been treasured for years creates an amazing setting for great grub and good times. The menu is eclectic and the drinks are good. Have gone many times when in town for business or visiting my daughter at UC. Easily accessed from downtown or campus. Parking is on the street & is always interesting. Folks are always friendly & helpful. A good cultural destination if you're looking for a classic Cincinnati experience. Then go around the corner and enjoy some live music at The Blind Lemon!“

“Nikki was my server and she was friendly. She recommended us the couples flight which we did. It did take about 30 minutes or more until we got our meat to cook when we were on a time crunch. The table next to us was extremely loud so I was unable to have a conversation with my date. Food was a large amount for fair pricing. We will go back but will ask to be in a more secluded table towards the front.“

“I give the food 3 stars, not because the taste but the lack of attention. I ordered the steak and ribs combo with loaded bake potatoe, and my steak was overcooked, and my potatoe didn't come with sour cream. Now Lauren, our server, made everything right and was fantastic otherwise. The place was slammed, so I can't be too critical. And even with the minor mishaps, I'm willing to give it another shot. My wife's food was perfect so that was a plus.“
