The quality of their food was apparent from the first taste. We arranged to be in Cleveland for a tasting at the Spice kitchen and were treated to a selection of appetizers, salads, and entrees for our wedding. Everything at our tasting was amazing. It was difficult to narrow down to our absolute favorites, but when I tried the beef short rib, I knew it was the one. Much like the tears of joy my wife had when she found “the dress,” I was overjoyed with the beef short rib. It delighted many of our wedding guests as well, while the salmon entree left a similar impression on the fish connoisseurs. The quality of dishes was unquestionable. Furthermore, Spice leans into seasonality when providing a menu, which undoubtedly promotes ingredient freshness and quality. We had about 100 guests at our wedding, most of whom selected one of two fantastic meat entrees. However, we also required a vegan dish, and the vegan entree was not of lesser quality. It was a delicious curry, demonstrating that Spice provided exceptional dishes to every guest. Spice receives high marks for quality of service by catering to every single guest at our wedding’s plated dinner. Pulling off exceptional food and service required thorough planning and terrific communication. From initial emails to a fun and delicious tasting, Spice Catering Co. was attentive to our questions and requirements, which led to a marvelous menu for the most important people in our lives. “Our office used to bring in lunch from various restaurants each day, which was always hit or miss on quality, value, & order accuracy. We recently switched to Harvest Owl & couldn’t be happier! All week the team has been raving about how fresh, healthy, delicious, & convenient their service has been. Personally, I am obsessed with the Dr’s Everyday salad, but each dish that I’ve tried has been delicious & so nutrient dense that I no longer find myself hitting that 3pm slump. I also enjoy that the menu changes on a weekly basis & that there’s a variety of cuisine types to choose from. Bonus points for the small details as well - I modified a salad to “hold the tomatoes” which had an option of “just this once” or “always” I selected “always” & when the page refreshed a note popped up to let me know that since I’m not a fan of tomatoes, I may want to reconsider one of my meal choices because it had tomatoes as a required element. From the very beginning, the planning process with Kaitlyn was completely seamless. She is incredibly organized, communicative, and just so easy to work with, which took so much stress off our shoulders during the planning stages.

When it came to the wedding day, the food was absolutely amazing. We had a sit-down meal for nearly 200 guests, which can be tough for any catering team to coordinate, but they handled it flawlessly. Every single person had their meal served within 15 minutes of each other, and everything was beautifully hot and delicious. “I work at millcraft up on grant ave. But live in Akron. My friend Mike told me about this place. I bought 3 pounds of your fresh polish sausage. I got home around 11 am. I cut off a peace because i wanted to try it. Cooked in just a little butter. Oh my, oh oh my. That is the best sausage i have ever ate. Well, i cooked up.the rest and my wife said she does like sausage but that is incredibly delicious. Thank you“

“Marge catered a party for 50 at our home and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Her menu is extensive, prices fair, and everything is home cooked. She and her staff came to set up hours three hours before the party and food was delivered piping hot at the time we requested. Guests fought over her stuffed cabbage and her pastry tray was so good, everything was gone before I could get a piece. She supplied all serving pieces, including REAL silverware, not plastic. She is super organized, energetic, and a joy to work with. We knew she was good but she more than exceeded our expectations.“

“I got married on 9/3/23 and it was absolutely perfect. Everything we planned, wanted, dreamed of came true. And even though our DJ and photographer were a huge part of that, NONE of it would have been possible without Tenk/Marigold. We had champagne for our rehearsal and during the morning in the bridal suite, and they were constantly putting food in front of us (so important on your wedding day!). And I’ve only talked about the coordination and catering - don’t get me started on the venue itself. Tenk is beautiful, simple, clean, and just perfect for any event. The bridal suite is massive and well-arranged for a big party, bathrooms are great, and that staircase is a showstopper. I am getting emotional just thinking about it! The whole day was simply flawless and it’s all thanks to Marigold. I’m going to miss working with them so much! Do yourself a favor and book them NOW. Worth every penny.“

The experience was so unique, educational, and fun that we knew immediately that this would be the place that we would celebrate our 50th Anniversary in a few years. “As a May 2026 bride at Windows on the River, I want to note that I had a lovely day. I’m writing this in the hopes that some couples do not experience some mishaps that we did.

1. During our ceremony, in the Bridge View Room, staff could be heard loudly talking behind the room divider. So much so, family members in the front row (farthest from the room divider) could hear.
2. During cocktail hour, many guests ventured the entire way through the aquarium without seeing a single server with a passed appetizer.
3. The cake-cutting table was not set with two forks and a dessert plate. Additionally, our cake-cutting knife was still wrapped in the box, which was on the table, and still had the sticky note on it reading “for cake cutting.” We weren’t about to unwrap and unbox these in front of 300 guests. So, in front of our guests, we had to run to our sweetheart table, grab forks, run back to the cake table in the middle of the dance floor and grab bites. Not being able to have our traditional cake cutting with our special serving set was a bummer.
4. Obtaining parking for guests was difficult. The lot is not owned by Windows, though the companies work closely together. The staff at Windows had to constantly remind the team at the parking lot to even answer us as prospective customers. I hope the venue and the lot can establish a better communication system that benefits everyone.

Simply put, these issues were disappointing for the amount of money paid.

That being said, many things were also wonderful! The space was gorgeous for photos and dancing, the dinner was delicious, the bartenders were fabulous, the aquarium was a hit, and Kathy was always quick to respond.

I write this in good faith hoping that the venue sees this and does not allow situations like this to happen with other couples and their families. We still had a beautiful day and don’t regret booking with the venue, but guest experience could be improved.“

Suya was tasty, though it could have been spicier, but I don’t think it’s cooked over coals. Speed and value really set this place apart from typical Nigerian fare. Excellent spot!“
