Gluten-Free Restaurants near Powell, OH

“I recently went to Iacano's for a lunch buffet and dinner. I arrived at 11:30 when they had the buffet. They brought out pepperoni and sausage pizza and pineapple and ham pizza primarily. I think they may have had pepperoni and a cheese pizza. The advantage of the buffet is that you can eat all you want and the soft drink is included in the price. It seemed very slow about how many pizzas were coming out. I had to wait for the pizzas to come out for about four or five minutes. I prefer a buffet that has several pizzas to choose from. Then again, some people ordered subs and had to wait for the order to come out.

The place can seat around 80 people (I am guessing). There were about thirty people there during lunch. I was with a group of eight people. The place is a little cool, so dress warmly. I was good with a shirt, sweatshirt, and sweatpants on. It was also during winter I stopped by.

After eating, I used the restroom. It had less heat than the restaurant. It was clean but not glamorous. The cost of the meal was below $20.00.

The second time I visited was on Monday at 7 pm for dinner. I was with five people and wanted to try the meatball and sausage subs and their meat lovers' pizza. The meatball and sausage subs were comparable. I'd give a little more to the meatball sub. The pizza was what I would expect from a meat lovers pizza. The crust was cooked enough that the slices, which were smaller rectangles, were solid and did not flop around. I like my crust more cooked.

I believe the place is good for families and parties of up to twenty people, but the number of people who can sit at one table would be eight. In both experiences, I could hear everyone talking at the table, so the noise level was an acceptable problem because the food was delicious.

“My Husband and I decided we wanted to go a different route when it came to dessert for our wedding. Instead of cake we decided we wanted to do donuts. The Dipped Donut did an amazing job! The owner and the rest of the staff were amazing to work with. We got to go in and create a dozen donuts to take home a few months prior to the wedding to sample and help us decide what flavors we wanted. This was nice because it allowed us to see how the donuts held up throughout the day. They tasted just as good that night as they did in the morning, they even tasted great still the next day! We ordered 400+ donuts for our wedding day and they were all made fresh that morning and delivered to our venue. The donuts looked beautiful and tasted even better. We received so many complements from our guest. I would highly recommend The dipped Donut for large events or day to day cravings!“

“A standard classic since the 80s. The food is fantastic. Their subs are delicious. My all time favorite is the Turkey sub. It is scrumdiddlyumptious. You have the ability to choose a thin or hand tossed crust. All the toppings are fantastic. Sides are also great. My biggest complaint is their closed lobby on Monday and Tuesday till 4pm. Other days they open at 10 or 11. Do expect overly friendly wait staff but the food is so good you will not care. I have been going here since the 90s. Their prices have raised significantly over the years. It used to much less. I will pay them because the food is worth it. I could see why some may shy away. You can rack up $50 just with two people ordering a sub and large pizza and drinking soda. Just keep that in mind. I feel one of the best pizza places in Columbus since they opened. You ability to choose crust and style of sauce and spiciness of tge sauce is paramount.“

“We arrived early for our reservation hoping to find a spot in the bar to enjoy happy hour. The host was extremely accommodating in getting us settled. Our waitress was serving many tables in the bar area, but still the service was excellent. We ordered from the happy hour food menu - caprese salad, meatball, sausage pizza. It was so good we ordered more! This was an excellent experience all the way around.“

“The food is great - we’ve tried most of their pizzas and the antipasti salad is to die for. Unfortunately I can’t speak as highly about the staff. On several occasions, usually on Sundays when they close at 7, I’ve gotten my food close to 7 but NEVER after 7. I’ve placed orders for pick-up at 6:45 and if I wasn’t there at 6:45 on the dot I’ve been called being harassed to get my food because they close at 7. Today I went in at 6:50 and they had already put everything away, taken out the trash, and sanitized everything and gave me lip about wanting to place my order (1 pizza and 1 salad). They proceeded to loudly complain to each other while making my order. Closing at 7 means you stop taking customers at 7 - not that staff gets to walk out the door and lock it behind them at 7.“

“I had been looking for an African restaurant that sells Cassava Leaf, as my sister from Sierra Leone moved to Canada. I found this restaurant and the Cassava Leaf was delicious, and oh so spicy just how I like it. I’ve tried other African restaurants Cassava Leaf and was always so disappointed. “Dewey's Pizza in Dublin was a fantastic lunch spot! The servers were friendly, responsive, and efficient. The pizzas we ordered were unique and delicious. The pizza throwers behind the window were so engaging and my son had a blast watching them make a pizza man face, write in flour, and “accidentally“ throw things at the window. We highly recommend going there. We will return for sure!“

It's the little things, such as bringing addional sweet n low packets to the table without prompting, and making sure we had a second beverage before we finished the first glass, that separate decent servers from the excellent ones. Staff at all First Watch are very friendly and seem to really enjoy working with there.

Parking: It's located in a newer strip mall and sits on the west side of US 23 probably halfway between Delaware and the road that takes you to Polaris.

Why is there kale in the japchae? And bobimpap is no fun without the Korean side dishes put in the rice bowl- aka. banchan,반찬! Where's the: Seasoned spinach-Sigeumchi-namul 시금치나물 Yellow Radish- Danmuji 단무지 (WITHOUT THE HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!) Burdock root - ueong, 우엉 Stirfried Anchovies-Myeolchi bokkeum, 멸치볶음 Seaweed - Gim-김 Red snapper would work for a protein! Look at black garlic as a soy sauce sub for people with hypertensive issues. Trumpet mushrooms or enoki mushrooms? Lotus root? Water chestnuts? Marin usually has high fructose corn syrup and that's horrific for your health. By the way, Radish kimchi aka. Kkakdugi, 깍두기 is very well liked by non-Koreans and Koreans. You can make panjeon with red lentil batter instead of wheat flour. Rice paper is another good gluten free ingredient. Then you can serve us in house, seated on the floor sitting on cushions, shoes off on a low table in metal bowls, with metal spoons and chopstics and KTrot or soccer playing on a huge flat screen tv. KTrot, think Ms. Trot on Chosun TV, Golden Oldies on KBS, etc. You're making me homesick! Carpe Diem!“
