“Perhaps my favorite Mexican restaurant I've been to in Dayton (and there are some good ones).Food:I ordered most recently the Chilaquiles Con Huevo Y Bistek Asado (pictured below). It was awesome. Thinly sliced (flank?) Steak cooked well, with nice slightly crispy edges and a good sear. Eggs were sunny side up and tasty. The meat and eggs were served on top of a nice bed of tortilla chips with lots of cilantro, cotija cheese, and I believe lime juice. Rice and refried beans were served on the side and quite good. There are other variants of this, along with huevos rancheros on the menu. The visit prior to this one, I ordered a pambazo (amazing) and an al pastor sope (also amazing) along with some horchata. A note on the horchata: you get your money's worth ($5 for a huge mason jar of it, I think at least a quart?) for the horchata, and it's easily in the top 2 homemade quality horchatas I've had. Definitely worth it.Pro tip: ask for their hot salsa to go with the chips & salsa. It's good. They normally bring out a roja and a Verde salsa, so the spicy one appears to be 'hidden' and complimentary (or priced such that I didn't notice any real increase in the bill).Customer service:Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that is happy to offer recommendations for menu items and such. The food was prepared and at our table in a timely manner, and accurately. Seating is DIY, so choose your seat as you wish. No issues to be had.Note: you pay at the front desk when done eating, and they seem to keep track of the items ordered on their end. So, you pay before you get your printed receipt, if that makes sense. Just a heads up, so you don't wait around thinking a bill will arrive.A very nice restaurant with lots of menu options and doesn't skimp on the flavor.10/10, ¡Mi restaurante Mexicano favorito!Vegetarian options: Dishes with meat are clearly marked as containing meat, at least in Spanish (pollo, barbacoa, bistek, chorizo etc.), so dishes without such labels can typically safely be assumed to be vegetarian. There are lots of vegetarian options, ranging from tacos and burritos to enchiladas. I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't doubt that substitutions can be made to remove meat from most any dish.Parking: Parking spaces are not super clearly marked, but there is ample space to park at the front of the restaurant (facing the road) or other spots facing the building at the front or side.“

“Let me tell it to you straight—this place is IT! I stopped by for the first time today and had their Trippin' On Shrooms burger and when I say it had SO. MUCH. FLAVOR! The fries were fresh, the pickles were thick cut, and the lions mane was JUICY and THICK! Yeah, this food is most definitely made with love. If you're trying to go vegan, the T.O.S is the way to go. Heck, even if you're not and you try something else, they're gonna get you right. Highly, highly recommend!“

“I went to order online just now and they are not accepting orders. Maybe they are just closed on thursdays, and I never noticed. But what if they are closing? I couldn't bear it. This is the closest taqueria to my house that doesn't have wheels on it. I need it to be open forever.“

“This actually is The Best Mexican Restaurant in Dayton! While we have tried many establishments around the area, this place knows what they are doing in the kitchen. This is probably the only restaurant where the chimichanga I order actually came out crispie and very tasty. Their refried beans are hand made and so so good. While my wife was devouring her fajitas and a Diet Coke, I got my favorite Jarritos Mandarin to drink with my meal. We are very much looking forward to our next meal here!“

“1st time eating here. The food was fantastic. The young gentleman working was very kind and helpful. The portions were huge too. #1 new place to eat. One thing that is normally an issue with eating Mexican food is making the picky eaters in the family happy but I was able to do that here.“
“Always a great place to find great meat and produce along with a large selection of drinks, seasonings, and snacks that are hard to find. The staff is always helpful even if you do not speak spanish. Some of the best produce and meat in the beavercreek and riverside area“

“A+ Experience in all categories Salsa is absolutely the best in existence. This place fires on all cylinders and serves up amazing dishes. Kudos to the waitress named Kat for making sure everything came out to me perfectly. Sometimes it's the people serving and doing quality checks that make or break the restaurant experience. She is on her game on bringing on the customer smiles with her service, style and class. The chicken fajita's were fabulous and spot on - Everything is excellent and look forward to my next visit! A place to recommend to my friend's family and followers without hesitation.“

“This was my first time eating at Chiapas. The food was delicious. Our server, Priscilla, was interactive, knowledgeable, kind, and efficient. We really enjoyed her! The atmosphere was nice and clean; however, the music was a little loud where we were sitting, making it difficult to have quiet conversation. My only disappointment was not getting any tres leches cake because they were out ?. Otherwise, an enjoyable experience. I look forward to returning.“

“This is the best food you can get in dayton/tipp. Seasoned well, and a lot of options. The only problem I have is the price. 2019 it was $22 for alambre fajitas for two. 2022 it was $30 dollars for the same. Now 2024 its almost $40 for the same for 2. My God, I used to eat this once a month at least. Now I eat it once a year at best. Everyone can say it's just what happened due to inflation but I'm a realist. Restaurants will close because of these price hikes and it will be sad to see the ones we all love become a statistic.“

“Today was Taco Tuesday at our local Mexican restaurant, but we actually didn't go with tacos today, lol. We've come plenty of times for tacos, but this time wanted something different This evening we went with a Chicken Fajita Taco Salad and Chicken Enchiladas with beans and rice. Both classic dishes were spot on for the quick in-and-out experience. Food was cooked just right with all the right balance to make the flavors pop! My wife added a side of fresh jalapenos that spiced things up a bit. As you know sometimes jalapenos can be hot, and sometimes not, but tonight they were definitely hot, just the way she likes them! Parking was easy even though the lot was packed, the atmosphere was festive and friendly, and René (manager) made his rounds ensuring everyone feel welcomed Highly recommend El Toro to any locals or those passing through, you won't be disappointed! #GoBills“

“I ordered the Taco Rey (I got 2 ground beef and 1 chicken. This is a set of three taco's with a hard shell attached to a soft shell with beans. The food was delicious, and I highly recommend. My party also got soup, and chips with various dips. All of the food I tried was really tasty. Our server was exceptional at refills, making sure our space was taken care of, and frequently checked if we needed anything. I liked the venue a lot too, it wasn't very crowded despite it being lunch time on Easter Sunday, and it wasn't very noisy. The table was slightly cramped, but there is plenty walking room around the space. It just felt tight seating 6 people at one table.“

“Everything I’ve had here is S-tier. We keep going back for the tortas, though. Even my super picky kids request them all the time - with everything on them! Also, the food is a great value for what you get, in terms of quality and quantity. The folks who run the truck are always super nice to me. I’ve paid before and after I get my food, which seems to depend on how busy they are more than anything.Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area - and worth the drive if you’re not!“

“The food, the service, and the pricing were quite good. Regarding the bill, I was very surprised by a "pop tax" of 5.75% on an ice tea and a similar "alcohol tax" on a bottle of beer -- in addition to the usual sales tax. What in the world is this? There's no such tax imposed by the state of Ohio. Also had a margarita during happy hour at a reduced price, but my wife had a "virgin" margarita (no alcohol) and was charged the regular full price. ???“

“They change the prices to whatever they want to charge you. One person charged me $23 every time and another person charges me $25.88 every time for the same exact meal. They don’t give receipts for cash purchases, which seems very suspect to me.Today I paid with the card just so I can have a receipt and he did not want to give that to me.“

“Had my birthday party here. Let me first start by saying Fridays and the weekends are very busy totally understandable. My waitress was bomb forgot her name but she was running alot. OK so boom reserved at 6:30 didn't get food and drinks til 7:30-8 my steak tacos were so good. Disappointed in birria pizza didn't like it. Everybody else in my party loved their food and drinks. Here was the problem I ask for a shot she brought me a double $23 one for me and my husband. $40 fancy drink another $100 in food and dessert bill $189 they automatically add 18% gratuity bad service or not (which we didn't have) but bill total $240 just a heads up. NONETHELESS I had a freaking blast I was drunk beyond repair and the dancing robot was my highlight. The dj was lit even took a few requests. 9/10 will return on a not so busy day and time. Thank you EL ASADERO ?“

“Delicious authentic tacos. Very clean, friendly, large menu, and the food was really good. The Al pastor was cooked and seasoned perfectly gave me cinnamon, pineapple, and nutmeg vibes. When I go back I will definitely be ordering a plate full of these 4 to 5 biter tacos. Perfectection The chicken was moist and really food too. But at the end the Al pastor stole the show.“

“It's just like every other El Toro in the area. Good food decent prices. The only thing that you might not like is the restaurant side is a little small. So it gets pretty loud in there pretty quickly during dinner time. Our food was great and our server was awesome.“

“Simply put, the BEST and most AUTHENTIC hispanic-inspired food I have had in years, and I am very picky when it comes to this style of cuisine. Everything was fresh, authentically prepared, and served with a knowledgeable and friendly demeanor - these folks are true culinary experts offering amazing tastes, I’m surprised they aren’t selling their chips and salsa on retail shelves, that’s how good it was!I can’t say enough about how positive every aspect of my experience at Napales was, visit them frequently, you can tell they put their heart into every order!“

“We stopped here on our way through town and will be coming back every time we are in the area. If i could rate it 10 stars, I would. We ordered the Torta Cubana and three tacos (birria, al pastor, and lengua). These were huge portions and were easily the best we have had, ever! The lengua taco was the best of the three (make sure you add the salsa verde). The torta was the star of the show. It was absolutely humungous, with milanesa, ham, asada, hot dog, guacamole, onion, tomato, jalapeños, and mayo. Seriously- order this! You won't regret it. Best. Torta. Ever.“

“The service was ok there was a language barrier and if you're not offered a dessert or any kind of appetizers you're supposed to get one free well I mentioned it but I had to go and wasn't able to stick around but they didn't want to honor that so I didn't get my dessert or my appetizer and I spend about $125 but the food was awesome service could stand to be just a little better but they weren't too bad yes I would go back.“

“I've eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. The three tacos plate is really tasty, a good amount of food, and the meat is grilled perfectly. The margaritas, chips and salsa are great too. Personally, the beans are a bit bland. Customer service is courteous, efficient, keeps drinks filled, yet leaves you to eat your meal in peace. The tables and chairs have pretty artwork. I consider Chiapas my new go-to whenever I'm craving more authentic type Mexican food at a casual sit-down place.“
“This is an amazing little gem to find after moving from California and is a slice of home for my spouse. The food is authentic and so so good with great pricing. The horchata is the best I've had outside my MIL. The owner is so nice. The store is impeccably clean with a great atmosphere.“

“BEST truck in Dayton, OH. I’ve been to every truck and this trucks food is the most flavorful from its salsas to the food itself. They’re gorditas and the right balance of soft with a bit of a crunch to the outside. The meat is full of flavors. Both the green and red sauces are packed with flavors. (Sometimes a truck will have great tasting food but their sauces are lacking in flavor, not this truck)Make sure to try their side of Mexican rice. It’s top notch. No matter what you order I can guarantee it will be packed with mouth watering flavor that will have you coming back weekly.Only con: it’s cash only. Never carried cash before but now I make sure to have some on me.“

“A little strange to have a beautiful restaurant in the back of a Hispanic supermarket but it's truly a beautiful atmosphere. My friend and I met for lunch and were immediately greeted by a very friendly server who sat us and brought chips and salsa. They were your pretty standard chips with salsa, little boring but alright. We ordered the Chorizo queso as an appetizer. Unfortunately my pic didn't turn out but it was very thin for queso. It tasted great but was definitely thin. It struck me during ordering that while this is a cool restaurant it's definitely not authentic. I had the Fajita Chimichanga. I didn't see on the menu that it was covered in a queso. It was tasty and yes I know chimichangas aren't authentic but there didn't seem to be many truly authentic dishes on the menu. Overall, lunch was great and I'd definitely return and recommend, just wish they would've had some truly authentic Mexican dishes on the menu.“

“Came to the drive through for the first time. Took a few minutes to have someone come take my order. I don't know if they aren't sure about thier menu but they seemed to not know what I was ordering even though it was right in front of me. The wait to get the food with the few cars ahead of me was almost 15 minutes. I almost left the line. The young girl at the window was such a sweetheart though and the food was a hefty portion for the price and really tasty.“

One enchilada (I chose chicken), one gordita (gr beef), and two tacos (GR beef) I forget the name but it's the hard inside soft shell, my fave. Mango margarita. Family got chimichangas.
