The quality of our local steak and shakes have significantly improved along with the staff. Much cleaner, tastes better, and even seems more filling than it used to. On top of that the new company policies like banning microwaves, beef tallow for their fried goods, and grass fed beef for the burgers. Friendly, fast service
I decided to go to Steak and Shake (Troy) for the first time in years. The staff was very pleasant, although my food took about 10 minutes (in the drive through) to get out. When I got home, I found my order was wrong, but I live 15 minutes away and didn't want to drive all the way back. I had said no cheese, and yet there was cheese on my burger. Steak 'n Shake offers decent food and shakes, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. The self-serve kiosks and QR codes to get your drink can be confusing with no instructions, which may be challenging for others, such as those with disabilities or those who are not tech-savvy. The dining area may be lacking in cleanliness. However, the food is always consistently good and reportedly very good, and the best fast food burgers in town. Some staff members are friendly for the very small interaction you get to have with them. Customers have also noted that the shakes are even better and highly recommended. Despite these positives, there have been issues such as a rude manager and long wait times. Overall, while the food is appreciated, improvements in service and cleanliness could enhance the dining experience.
