Sushi En has quickly become my favorite place to dine downtown. So far, I’ve tried the tuna poke bowl and the bibimbap with beef in a hot stone bowl. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The bibimbap especially stood out—authentic in both taste and presentation, just as it’s served in Korea.

What makes the experience even better is the hospitality. Both times I visited, I was greeted and served by the owner, Grace, whose warmth and care made me feel right at home. The service is just as memorable as the food.

“The staff are all so nice and the food is fresh every time!! We dine here or carry out at least twice a month. Whether dining in or takeout, the food is always fast, affordable, and fresh. “We walked in and were instantly greeted by a friendly person who instructed us to have a seat and look over the menu and when we were ready we could come and order. We ordered two Musubi and two onigiri (tuna and crab). It was such a reasonable price for such delicious Japanese cuisine! It was the perfect lunch for our day. The venue is unassuming, located in a strip mall off the side of a road, but man oh man do they serve up a nice bowl of noodles. I ordered the spicy ramen (only option with chili paste) and it was down right delicious. You can tell the restaurant puts time and care into what they do. The broth was bursting with layers of flavor. The noodles had great texture and held up in the soup. The pork belly had a wonderful crispy smokey flavoring going on. It was a perfect trio of earthy, spicy, and rich! It was a colder day when I stopped in and this bowl warmed me up down to the core!

The guests I was dining with ordered a he sushi roll and LOVED it! They said it was probably the best sushi roll they’ve ever had in their lives. Which is pretty high praise given they’re had more sushi than they’d probably care to admit.

The staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful in the ordering process. The dining room isn’t big but they do have a handful of booths and bar seating along the sushi counter. The booth seating isn’t the most comfortable and the backs tend to lean if you try to press your back against it. Bathroom was clean and fully stocked with soap and paper towels. Always an indicator of a good operation when a restaurant has a clean bathroom area.

Overall, I’d definitely stop back in to try more food when I’m in the area next. I’d highly recommend stopping in and giving it a try if ramen and sushi are your thing! Just be warned this place fills up fast!“

“Today we decided it was time for lunch and we decided to buy lunch to eat at home, staff were very polite however the price is a little overpriced. Food is delicious but overpriced I highly recommend this place if you want a nice healthy lunch.“

Entrees such as Chicken Broccoli, Wonderful Chicken, Beef Broccoli, and General Tao's Chicken are all excellent. Egg Foo Young was disappointing; the pancakes had way too many bean sprouts and the gravy was light colored and lacked flavor.“

“I've been getting takeout from Tree Country for 15 years now. In that time, the restaurant has had its ups and downs with world events and the dine-in character especially has changed. Unfortunately they also lost their delicious sushi options. What hasn't changed in all that time is the consistently good food and the consistently kind and attentive staff.

“I was surprised that Ballantine did not have a better star rating. We are passing through. Most well rated Willoughby restaurants were very full. Ballantine is a large place, lots of wood, with some crannies, one being in the back with a mantle and gas lighted fireplace. In live music before it switches to current sports. Special dinner: Clams which were very fresh, clam chowder with fresh vegetables, and a huge hamburger with greens. All good. Staff people were super friendly and helpful. A beautiful lighted outdoors with floor to ceiling glass. Couldn't have been any better. Thank you, Ballantine.“
