I was looking for a local place for a beer and a burger. I found it. I will be returning. The staff was attentive and friendly. The burger and fries were good.

Breakfast Saturday & Sunday 8:30-11:30. Fish fry, lake perch & walleye. And Monday night is Hamburger night, 5-7.
Saturday visit 6pm. Buger could not be cooked to order. The only cook/bartender advised it was a frozen patty. Ok ordered it anyway and it was horribly over salted. My son had the turkey bacon club and it was a pretty good size sandwich and he said it was okay. Understand this is a very very limited menu. I thought that it was expensive for what we got for just two people at such a small little roadside bar. Also be aware this is a bar for regulars. That was made pretty clear by the banter back and forth between the bartender and the folks sitting at the bar. There was a lot of f-bombs and MF bombs being exchanged so if you don't like that kind of thing, I would advise from this, my first and last visit to the Wayside, that you might want to look for another place.

We ate here on Friday for the perch dinner. The perch was AWESOME! The fries were great and the portions are huge. The service was fast and very attentive. The prices are super reasonable, including the drinks. We WILL be back for another perch fry, and can't wait to try the weekend breakfast!
