We have been coming out to Buckeye Jakes for several years and we have always had good food and good service. Sunday April 14th we came out with another couple for dinner. As usual our food was good, but the service was less than stellar, and they were not even busy. After we finished our appetizers we waited at least 10-15 minutes before our server came back to take our order. Had an amazing early dinner. Being a large family (7 of us) we are always concerned about going to restaurants. We visited the area to watch the eclipse and stumbled upon this place. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff was beyond kind and amazing. Never had a drink go empty, food was exactly as ordered and the old Victorian house was gorgeous.

Just Meh. Typical bland, American, small town food. Though I was told a full bar existed, I was unable to obtain a dry gin martini or an Old Fashioned….not obscure drinks, to be sure! Though I could have ordered something called a Trash Can. No thanks, wine will do.I obtained an okay vegetarian meal through salad & side dishes. And to be fair, my dining companion enjoyed his steak, roll & mac & cheese. The service staff, though slightly clueless, was attentive enough.
