Fred's Steakhouse & Saloon offers good food at great prices. The restaurant provides draw-on menus and crayons for kids and has highchairs and booster seats available. However, the handicapped-accessibility could be improved. The chicken fried steak and rib eye meals were delicious, accompanied by tall beers. The bacon cheeseburger is also good, and the rustic atmosphere adds to the experience. The atmosphere can be loud, with voices carrying throughout the restaurant. The food is generally good and the prices are great. The steak fries are especially praised, along with salads and their white queso. Margaritas are better than most, with extra limes available on request. The staff, including Cheryl, is friendly and attentive, often going above and beyond, especially when caring for guests with special needs. While the food may not be the best in town, it is definitely worth a visit, especially for their impressive steak selection.
