“I’d like to overall rate a 4.5 but that’s not an option.
AC was barely working so it started off rough, I seated myself and after a few minutes got my chips n salsa.
Salsa was hearty, not too hot but good flavor. Chips were middle of the road, not great but not bad.. I say combined a 7 out of 1-10 rating.
The food was served pretty quickly, ordered my regular 2 🐓 1 🐄 tacos and double rice. I asked for fresh onion and got grilled 😕 waiter immediately went and got me fresh onion tho, possibly his mistake.
The rice was very good, I’ve had better but I’d rate it 8.5 out of 10 for sure.
The 2 chicken tacos were delicious, the beef was kinda bland.. BUT it could possibly be my taste buds were just non existent at that point from the absolute 🔥 sauce they supplied with tacos.. I asked him which sauce was hot and he said this one (red) and I was all in on the fact I’d been rocking a bit of a sinus headache all morning.. I hate to say I met my match.. I love hot sauce, I eat raw peppers and enjoy it.. but this sauce had some HOT habaneros in it and was killer!! I would have been more conservative had I know when applying 😅.

“first time stopping here on the way home from Choctaw. coming from TX we never drive further out. wanting Mexican food this place popped up of places near us. don't let the outside fool you! pulling up it doesn't look like much, but from experience if the parking lot is full it's the place to eat!being from LA and spending lots of time in TJ I've been missing authentic Mexican street food I grew up on since moving to TX 30 years ago. THIS PLACE HAS IT!! didn't take pics(we dug in) soo good. large portions both hubby and I had to take some home. he got the barria tacos w/rice and beans, I got the taquitos also w/rice and beans. I don't think either one of us said a word because our mouths were always full of food. the horchata was chefs kiss!! we will definitely be back!! all the employees were so nice, place was very clean and packed!!.“
