“One of our go to Chinese restaurants. Absolutely must get their chicken on a stick aka chicken teriyaki. It’s stacked with seared onions & glazed with a teriyaki sauce.

Their beef broccoli is great, meat is not chewy & broccoli is not cooked too much. I like that it’s also not over sauced.

I was unsure about this place a few times, but tonight they were on point. The egg rolls I really think are the best around. They were not super greasy & they have such a great overall flavor.

They add onions and bell peppers to the sweet & sour chicken, which is just a nice addition.

I don’t eat this a lot as it’s not a healthier option, but you do get your protein here so that’s a plus!“

“Chinese Gourmet Express is my favorite place to eat when visiting Woodland Hills Mall. I have been a fan of their food since their first location at Promanade Mall, when their burbon chicken was only $5 a plate.

Fast forward through the years and it is still the same great tasting burbon chicken, just cost more due to inflation, but I still LOVE it!
When the cravings for Chinese hits, we will even drive to the mall just to go to the food court for this burbon and chicken.

During our visit, we went with two of the 2 item combos that included the rice. One was with the general tso chicken and broccoli and beef, while the other was merely a double order of burbon chicken with extra sauce on the rice.

I was told the other meal was good but the burbon chicken was still better. I personally only ate the burbon chicken, and it was perfect. They had just brought a new fresh pan of it out of the kitchen as well.

Overall, I would recommend visiting the Chinese Gourmet Express located at the Woodland Hills Mall. I will not vouch for other foods there, except the burbon chicken. There is nothing else around quite like it!“

“I had this DoorDash to my hotel but it was so hot when I got it, I had to wait a few minutes for it to cool down which was awesome being so fresh. However, that was just the sesame chicken. The egg roll didn’t seem very fresh and the cream cheese wontons were tiny with very little filling. Not bad but they didn’t taste fresh like the chicken did and I prefer a lot of filling in the ones i typically get at other places. The rice was okay but I’m also not a big rice person so can’t say anything was wrong with it. I would buy it again, I just wouldn’t get the wontons most likely.“

I dined in during the lunch rush, and everything about the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The ladies working were laughing, chatting with me, and still keeping everything moving efficiently. You could tell they worked well together.

The food was fresh, hot, and the serving line was fully stocked even during lunch. Nothing looked like it had been sitting around, and everything tasted great. I ordered the Black Pepper Sirloin Steak and Kung Pao Chicken with half fried rice and half chow mein, and it was all cooked perfectly.

Great service, fresh food, a clean dining area, and an overall enjoyable experience. I'll definitely be back.“
