10 Best Fast Food Restaurants in Durant

“For what it is, it's great. I really appreciate the side of gravy with chicken tenders and the option to replace the drink with a second side. I often choose this meal over the good chicken at my neighborhood convenience store or the KFC across the main drag from Chicken Express. The okra is a great side for its strong breading and tender fruit. In an area where Churches Chicken doesn't exist, this place is a nice stand-in for them. The staff is polite and professional. I've never needed to talk to management here except to offer praise for above-and-beyond service.
If I have one complaint, it is that they don't ask which bread option you want. You may get down the road and find that you have a roll instead of the desired biscuit. I might add that the last two times I went, it seemed like they are using shrinkflation on the biscuits of all things.

Parking: It is intended that you enter the lot on one side of the building and exit on the other, as if you are a drive-through customer.“

“This was our first time back since Durant's remodel & we were pleasantly surprised. First thing I looked for was food/debris under order counter...nothing! Yeah Durant...great job!
I talked to manager, Sherry, as I recognized her from Calera, Ok. I remembered, my niece(DM), Robin telling me Sherry was helping out in Durant. Great job, Sherry, I am so pleased with how your hard work is definitely a breath of fresh air!

Parking: Plenty of Handicap parking & lots of other parking spaces. The lot was clean without any clutter.

Kid-friendliness: Witnessed the register person being very friendly a mother & child. He was very curtious & friendly & read back the order.“

“The food is good but they NEVER put napkins or ketchup in with the order even when specifically asking for it. I don’t normally do reviews but this is becoming an issue each time I order from the Durant Whataburger and feel like I need to say something.“

Though on DQ website it mentions Misty Slush. Which I think used to be called Arctic Rush. They acted like they'd never even have it and they couldn't give us one apparently“

Original post 12/19/20: ---Running around town this morning/afternoon on Christmas countdown duty and stopped by Firehouse Subs to pick up some lunch for myself, my oldest, Brendon and my dad. So for those of you that haven't been inside or to your local neighborhood Firehouse Subs shop, they decorate their dining area inside with photos and murals etc. of your local station houses and Firemen through the years from your area showing them in action doing the heroic work they're known for. Our Durant shop has some very special memorabilia and the hand painted mural of DHS's class of '89 classmate and Chief Warrant Officer Brady Rudolf with 2 local Policemen, and a couple of our Lion mascots, all standing in front of Brady's memorial in front of Durant High School, is worth your visit alone! But back to my other piece of the story.....So as I waited for the sandwiches, I had to make a quick trip to the powder room from running everywhere with no breaking all morning and after one giant D.P. Having never used their "facilities" there before located in the back of the shop, I had no idea about or had ever seen the framed vintage photos of the Department through the years that line the hallway to the restrooms. I was tickled pink to see this photo immediately, showing my Grandfather (blue) and Great Uncle Lawrence (red). Our family is of course proud that my Pappa Bill was once the Department Chief of Durant. Unfortunately though, the only remaining copies we have of these bits of our family history are so faded and worn that they now need restoration work. And with that thought, the 'ol lightbulb upstairs flickered some 😆 but finally lit up and I grabbed an employee up front. As I drug her away from her work, I explained that these were my relatives and it would make my day to find out where they had the copies of those pictures made so I could also have several made for my surviving uncles and cousins for Christmas. She was so sweet but had no idea where they came from and I expected that she probably wouldn't. But then she says..."Let me call my owner and see if he has that information." I tried to just wave it all off by telling her not to trouble herself, that they were busy and I could call about it later on some other day. But I think she understood what this picture meant to me and mine and put herself in my place because she seemed to be on such a cheerfully determined mission, insisting that I was no trouble at all as she dissappeared into the back office. So I waited just a little while studying up close at my Pappa Bill and this little piece of Durant's and my family's history. It was emotional enough before I heard her open the office door and I turned around to see her coming to me and holding a pristene, poster quality 16×20 copy of the photo. "I called my owner." she said, "He told me to tell you we just happened to still have this one." And as she hands it to me she says, "He wants you to have it and told me to tell you 'Merry Christmas to you and your family'." I was speechless because I thought she was just going to lay it on a table and let me look at the detail I'd never before seen in our family's much smaller, faded and aged photograph, or that she might let me take a picture of it with my phone. Never expected such a simple but incredibly thoughtful gesture when all I'd done for them was to interrupt them as they were going about their job“
